★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Diese Kirche, die über Limone thront, von weitem über den See gut sichtbar ist, lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, zu besuchen, auch wenn der Weg von ganz unten am See bis hoch, durch die engen Gassen, ein wenig beschwerlich ist. Im Innern wird man belohnt durch einen schönen Hauptaltar und weitere, ebenfalls in Marmor. Die Gemälde von Celesti, links und rechts vom Altar, finden sich auch als Motive auf Postkarten wieder, die am Osteingang im Inneren links platziert sind. Auch allerlei Wissenwertes über Daniele Comboni, der auch aussen über dem Eingang zur Seeseite auf dem Gemälde zu sehen ist. Ich kann den Besuch von San Benedetto nur empfehlen, abseits vom Massentourismus ein kleiner Schatz.
This church, which towers over Limone and is clearly visible from far over the lake, is definitely worth a visit, even if the way from the bottom of the lake up to the narrow streets is a bit difficult. Inside you will be rewarded with a beautiful main altar and others, also in marble. The paintings by Celesti, to the left and right of the altar, can also be found as motifs on postcards, which are placed on the inside at the east entrance. Also all kinds of interesting facts about Daniele Comboni, which can also be seen on the outside of the entrance to the lake on the painting. I can only recommend a visit to San Benedetto, a little treasure away from mass tourism.
