★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Si racconta che nel 1779 un nobile di Adernò, Giuseppe Agati, andando in un paese lontano dalla Sicilia per vendere il proprio bestiame, ebbe difficoltà a tornare in paese, perché si era diffuso il colera nei paesi che doveva attraversare per fare ritorno. Allora si rivolse ai Santi Filippo e Giacomo, promettendo loro che, se fosse giunto in Adernò sano e salvo, avrebbe edificato a proprie spese la nuova costruenda Chiesa.
It is said that in 1779 a nobleman from Adernò, Giuseppe Agati, going to a country far from Sicily to sell his livestock, had difficulty returning to the village, because cholera had spread in the countries he had to cross to return. Then he turned to Saints Philip and James, promising them that, if he had arrived in Adernò safely, he would have built the new church building at his own expense.
