★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La cattedrale è stata costruita nel XVII secolo ed è dedicata a Santa Maria Assunta; la volle il popolo quale voto perché cessasse la peste che imperversava negli anni 30 del 1600.
L'interno è formato da un'unica navata centrale, in stile barocco con abside e presbiterio ricchi di stucchi dorati. Proprio in questi giorni Pontremoli ha vissuto con entusiasmo la riscoperta del Barocco con le giornate FAI che hanno visto l'apertura di alcuni palazzi le cui sale sono state visitate in due giorni da oltre 17.000 persone.
The cathedral was built in the seventeenth century and is dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta; the people wanted it as a vote to stop the plague that raged in the 30s of 1600.
The interior is formed by a single central nave, in Baroque style with an apse and presbytery rich in golden stuccos. In these days Pontremoli has enthusiastically experienced the rediscovery of the Baroque with the FAI days that saw the opening of some buildings whose rooms were visited by over 17,000 people in two days.
