★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been to this hotel several times for events and have stayed. This old villa is better suited as an event venue than a hotel. The food is pretty good, but not spectacular. They seem to be focused on their events, so for part of the year the rooms are not available on the weekends for travelers. The wifi is unreliable, but views and gardens are spectacular. The swimming pool and tennis courts need maintenance. The regular rooms for a couple are drafty small and nicely appointed but not luxurious.
The beds are hard and though I like a firm mattress, the matresses in both rooms were only spings with no pillow top, therefore for all the charm of the location, you may be be better off looking elsewhere. When we asked for adifferent room they said all were the same.
