★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Forse non tutti sanno che Pordenone è ricca di parchi, aree verdi e giardini pubblici. Questo è particolare perché è fluviale, infatti costeggia il famoso fiume Noncello che ha dato il nome a Pordenone.
Riporto un interessantissimo testo tratto dal web in merito:
Il prato stabile che precede l’ingresso al parco era un’area sabbiosa denominata “il lido”. Qui i pordenonesi andavano a fare il bagno e a prendere il sole fino a quando fu costruito l’argine per proteggere la città dalle improvvise piene. A ricordo della “spiaggia”, oggi prato stabile, troviamo ancora il ristorante “Al Lido”.
Il prato che state calpestando è particolare perché stabile. Questo lo differenzia dai normali parchi o giardini in cui l’erba viene tagliatamolto frequentemente e anche dai pascoli dove l’erba viene brucata dagli animali che in questo modo selezionano le piante più buone.
Al contrario nel prato stabile, la mancata aratura e lo sfalcio effettuato solo 2 o 3 volte all’anno permette lo svilupparsi di una grande diversità floristica e consente la sopravvivenza di piante che mal sopportano di essere tagliate. Fai attenzione: alcune piante sono protette!

Perhaps not everyone knows that Pordenone is full of parks, green areas and public gardens. This is particular because it is fluvial, in fact it runs along the famous Noncello river which gave its name to Pordenone.

The stable lawn that precedes the entrance to the park was a sandy area called "the beach". Here the people of Pordenone used to go swimming and sunbathing until the embankment was built to protect the city from sudden floods. As a reminder of the "beach", now a stable lawn, we still find the restaurant "Al Lido".
The lawn you are walking on is particular because it is stable. This differentiates it from normal parks or gardens where the grass is cut very frequently and also from pastures where the grass is grazed by animals which in this way select the best plants.
On the contrary, in the stable lawn, failure to plow and mowing carried out only 2 or 3 times a year allows the development of a great floristic diversity and allows the survival of plants that can not stand being cut. Be careful: some plants are protected!
