★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just like nonna used to make! Friendly, unpretentious service. Some staff spoke English which was helpful, but those that don't were patient. My grandparents moved from there 60 years ago and the food at Papisca took me back to their style of cooking. We came in the morning (around 11) and they had a very limited menu, but later after a swim they had the full lunch offerings laid out inside.

I have been here to have lunch, dinner and some breaks.
The arancine are sublime as well as the granita.
A local speciality is the "pane cunzato". You have to try it.
I'm giving 4 stars due to just a reason: when I had lunch I waited more than 45 minutes to have a beer and a pane cunzato. They told me there was a lack of personnel but it's anyway unacceptable

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible service. I asked for their primi piati (of 12 euros!! Clearly overpriced) made of bread with olive oil, tuna, lettuce with small pieces of cheese and also an Arancino made of meat and cheese. The bread arrived after half an hour of waiting, even though there was just my boyfriend and I waiting outside. They forgot about the Arancino which had me go inside and ask for it, only to find out the tray was empty. The staff was rude when I told them that my Arancino didn't arrive to my table and pretended I did not ordered it, which I did, just before they asked me for the beverages.
The waiters did not use masks or gloves to manage people's plates. One of them pretended to know English, which made me frustrated because I was talking but she couldn't understand, so I had to go inside and repeat all over the Arancino situation
Clearly overpriced and terrible service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had two excellent lunches here and contrary to some other places on the eolian islands this place does not charge excessive tourist prices.
We had great chicken with excellent tasty skin, juicy meat and a nice sweet sauce. The octopus salad was very good as well with the octopus having the right consistency. In some other places that stuff taste like rubber.
The desserts are great too. We had "granite". True they were a little too liquid, but the taste was great.
