Excellent bakery also as a diner. They bake bread all the time so it's easy to find freshly baked bread that's still warm.

Unprofessional and unwelcoming staff. Everything goes at a fast pace, neglecting the details and customer requests. Excellent bread but as regards the desserts eg. the "sfince" leave something to be desired

Sono in viaggio a Trapani, stamattina (25 Aprile) cercavo qualcosa per fare colazione ma tutto era chiuso. Solo il silenzio aleggiava nell'aria immobile e fredda delle sette del mattino.
Ad un certo punto in lontananza scorgo il panificio Bernardo, l'unico posto con le saracinesche alzate e la luce accesa dentro.
Entro, prendo un treccione con lo zucchero e un cornetto vuoto. In quel momento non mi interessava che fosse buono, era già tanto aver trovato del cibo.
E invece: uno dei cornetti più buoni che io abbia mai mangiato, croccante all'esterno e alveolato all'interno, con lo zucchero semolato sopra che scrocchia sotto i denti e un buon profumo di burro.
Il treccione soffice leggero e gustoso, dolce al punto giusto.
Se mai dovessi tornare a Trapani tornerò qui anche con i bar aperti.
A port in which to soothe the pains.
I'm traveling to Trapani, this morning (April 25) I was looking for something to have breakfast but everything was closed. Only silence hung in the still, cold air of seven in the morning.
At a certain point in the distance I see the Bernardo bakery, the only place with the shutters up and the light on inside.
Within, I take a braid with sugar and an empty croissant. At that moment I didn't care if it was good, it was already a lot to have found food.
Instead: one of the best croissants I've ever eaten, crunchy on the outside and honeycomb on the inside, with the granulated sugar on top crunching under your teeth and a good scent of butter.
The light and tasty soft braid, sweet at the right point.
If I ever go back to Trapani I will come back here even with the bars open.
