a	angela rita scionti on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissimo palazzo al centro di Messina, in via Centonze,vicino via S.Cecilia, appartenente al cosiddetto eclettismo messinese e progettato dall'architetto di Firenze Gino Coppedé che operò a Messina negli anni dopo il terremoto per alcune famiglie benestanti messinesi. Contribuì alla ricostruzione della città, il palazzo è datato fra il 1914/15,è stato restaurato di recente ed ha mantenuto i disegni policromi tipici di Coppedé e gli altorilievi raffiguranti la Medusa. Viene chiamato anche palazzo del Gallo per via di un Gallo in ferro sulla sommità del grande portone. Beautiful building in the center of Messina, in via Centonze, near via S. Cecilia, belonging to the so-called Messina eclecticism and designed by the Florence architect Gino Coppedé who worked in Messina in the years after the earthquake for some wealthy Messina families. He contributed to the reconstruction of the city, the palace is dated between 1914/15, was recently restored and has kept the polychrome designs typical of Coppedé and the high-reliefs depicting the Medusa. It is also called Palazzo del Gallo because of an iron rooster on the top of the big door.

Durante il periodo fascista era la sede della milizia, ma i suoi fregi hanno un grande significato massone. This building as you can see has been restored with great dedication bringing to light the original representations that have great significance for those who know the history of this building. During the fascist period it was the seat of the militia, but its friezes have a great Mason meaning.

Non so se è possibile visitare l'interno, sarebbe una bella possibilità. Peccato però che la città sia tenuta in pessimo stato, poco pulita e poco curata. Beautiful historic building, with beautiful structure, large wooden doors and a series of decorations on all sides of the building and on every window. I do not know if it is possible to visit the interior, it would be a nice possibility. Too bad, however, that the city is kept in a bad state, not very clean and not very well taken care of.
