★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We strongly recommend OttoMood AlaOvest B&B for staying in Catania. Located very close to the center, good restaurants and shopping streets, the B&B is very neat, cosy and well equipped both inside and outside your room. Despite itself being in old building (rooms have really high roofs), they have an elevator which makes way with baggage easy. Interiors are modern and stylish, neat.
Ribella, host of the b&b, was extremely friendly and was instrumental in making our stay comfortable (earlier check in upon arrival, recommendations of excursion to Etna, transport advice).
Breakfasts provide good choice: croissants, ham and cheese, yoghurts, juices, good coffee and fruits (including fichi india!).
P.s.We recommend to take a bus (Alibus or local city bus) from Catania bus station if you arrive there (we walked on foot with suitcases and regretted about it).

We spent 7 nights in 8 Mood - and are very happy. We booked a family room with a double bed and an additional bed for our son. There would have been a 4th sleeping option on a very comfortable leather sofa. What is very important to us is a comfortable bed - not too soft especially. And we were sleeping very well.
The room was big enough for the 3 of us. A small desk and chair as well as a cabinet to store our stuff.
For summer the room also offered an air conditioning. A small balcony with window towards the street - a big noisy tough if you open the window.
The bathroom was well equipped and almost new; and do was the room as well.
The breakfast was incl and we found all we need. Cereals, several cakes, fresh buns, marmelade, honey, Nutella, cold cuts and cheese. Fresh squeezed orange juice on request. Only the coffee was not great but okay.
The B&B offered free internet - not the fastest but working well.
The service and friendliness was outstanding.
For parking we booked a close by (3min by foot) locked garage.
There was a vending machine as well so you could buy some drinks, sweets and snacks - all at very reasonable price !
The B&B is located only a few walking minutes from city centre - so a perfect location close to all main tourist attractions. Beside the B&B a small Cafe and a super good bakery opposite side of the street. Owners are just amazing ! Try their pizza snacks, home made Grissini and buns !!
All in all a great stay ! Thank you very much !!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a lovely place. It’s very clean, comfortable and in a great location. I have an injured leg and appreciated the proximity to the park, botanical gardens, shopping and places o eat. There is also an elevator. The breakfast was lovely. The ladies that run it are friendly and helpful. I would stay here again and definitely recommend it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good location and very helpful staff. We stayed a night here and found it super easy to move around and get to the major sites within the city.
There are lots off good restaurant around the area also.
The B&B was very clean and spacious. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The breakfast choices was abundant and delicious.
Worth staying here for a short term option.
It would have been nice for each room to have a kettle, tea and coffee.
However you have easy access to all the facilities in the common area of needed.
Go for the location and spacious rooms.
