★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Communal tables, menu is written on the wall, only cash accepted, rustic atmosphere, very simple food, cheap prices, crowded and noisy sometimes, dogs are welcome...
BUT isn't this a kind of place we expect to find in a former fisherman's village?
There are many fancy and formal restaurants everywhere.
Try 'Osteria Mattana' once and you will want to come back for sure..!
A tip: you better come at their opening time to sit in the front room ;)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No frills food, thrown at you by friendly staff, and all the better for it. Some of the best vongole I've ever tasted (anywhere), fresh ingredients and locals enjoying a neighbourhood favourite at full volume on trestle tables. You'll pay twice as much for far lesser quality elsewhere - as we certainly have.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great traditional homemade food, when we come back to Italy we always stop at least once. Simple recipes but full of flavours are accompanied by a good selction of wines and beers. 20/25 Euro per head, but well spent. I wish they accepted electronic payments, but I guess they have their reasons for not having the option.

For the starter of grilled paper and eggplant, which is very local; the outopus with pasta that we never had before, the pasta is perfect cooked and the octopus sause is not easy to find in other restaurant; for the grilled Sea brass, the fish is fresh and grilled just fine, and we have the super ? cake at the end!! Highly recommemded, must try this restaurant when you go there!!
