★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Firstly not your usual touristy fare: Service is very gracious and welcoming with staff even speaking some English but none of the pushy in your face stuff you encounter in so many places these days. Twinned with a wine shop, naturally staff are all very educated in pairing wines or even more casual suggestions. Overall, its very friendly with true authenticity.
Food wise, again none of the usual tourist stuff nor anything overly traditional. An entire page of the menu is dedicated to cod dishes. Would be great to find out why! Remainder of the menu is fashionably edgy twist on traditional and some really new stuff.
Starters: we tried the pumpkin flowers ( very unusual but fresh taste with perfect seasoning), empanadas (moist and full of flavour with crispy casings and no oily stuff!) Mozy bags (little balls of fresh mozzarella paired with various toppings all of which are fresh) and suppli (disappointingly dry but also let down because the rest of the starters were so good).
Mains: cod ravioli ( to die /kill for) & carbonara which was probably the only below par dish in the entire experience. Tad too salty and bacon was also too salty instead of the slightly sweet offset it should provide.
Overall: fab value & supreme service and food.
