★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Get off the beaten path and out of the touristy areas of Rome and eat where the locals eat. Nobody here speaks English so be prepared to use hand gestures but the food is absolutely worth it. After eating at a 5 star restaurant this little gem still keeps the title of "the best meal" that we had while in Rome.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A simple restaurant that offers simple, but amazing food at an unbeatable price-quality ratio. We ordered starters, rigatoni a la carbonara as our main fish, dessert, two glasses of white wine, two expresso and one digestive, and we only paid 65 euros. This place seems to be only frequented by locals, so I think that tourists in quest of a genuine roman experience will be very pleased there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fast service, incredibly friendly staff. Decent english, and a fantastic kitchen. Their menu is small, and changes regularly enough for them to not print out menus. Presumably this is to accompany the wines they produce themselves! We met the owner/producer of the wines, and he was all smiles and professionalism. His merlot was exactly as full as i like them - a slightly chalky, heavy mouth feel, with a ripe red berry fruit flavor, without much acidity at all. He had a white which was also really well-rounded.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent dishes paired wonderfully with wines from their own vineyard. Their primo were rustic, and full of big flavour despite their simplicity. For the secondi, I would recommend the turkey rolls to be paired with their white wines. Service was typically Roman in terms of pacing which is fine, however they were friendly, explained things well and tolerated my woefully bodged Italian with grace. A hidden gem.
