C'erano persone che hanno atteso più di due ore per 2 fette di affettati pagate carissime.
Poi ordini 1 litro d'acqua e te ne portano mezzo.
 After an hour and a half of waiting for two cutting boards we left.
There were people who waited more than two hours for 2 highly paid slices of cold cuts.
Then you order 1 liter of water and they bring you half.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutley the beast food in the area. It's been an 18 month since we dined at El Rifugio, miss cozy atmosphere, excellent food. The chef does put amazing effort to provide special dining experience. Once we are back in the area, it's a must stop at El Refugio !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great environment and ambiance. There's a seating area outside, good for drinks and conversation and the inside is cozy. The food is good. I had tagliatelle con funghi. Others had rabbit and steak and they enjoyed it. The rabbit does come whole so be mentally prepared for all the bones. The salad is not recommended as it was just some lettuce. The desserts offered were Sacher torta, Apple pie, panna cotta with berries or caramel. All were simply delicious and perfectly sweet! The only issue we had was paying. We couldn't separate our bills for a large group and had to split it evenly although the costs of each order varied widely. Then, because of its location on the mountain, the credit card machine had a hard time getting a signal to run cards, so having cash in hand would be best. Our waitress/cashier had a great attitude through it all and I forgot to mention the menu was in Italian only but she translated it to English for us just fine. All in all, it was a great dinner!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Favorite restaurant. They show you the raw cuts of meat before it being cooked and then deliver it sizzling. The pasta is amazing and their selection of wines and liquor is top tier.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We used to love this restaurant and would take guests from out of town here. We usually have the owner as our waitress, who is very kind and helpful. Our most recent visit was extremely unsettling. Our waitress(never have seen before) took advantage of the fact that we are Americans and instead of bringing us the 20€ bottle of wine we’d ordered, poured us a 60€ bottle. We all ordered large entrees, but requested a small T-bone steak for the table to share. She brought out 2 large steaks without asking, we were charged another 70€ for the steaks. Needless to say, our bill was exorbitant. What an unsettling experience to feel like you’re being scammed while trying to enjoy a family dinner. So disappointed. I don’t think we’ll be coming back here.
