La chiesa è importante per la sua storia e per gli affreschi che abbelliscono il suo interno, attribuiti a Bernardino Luini e alla sua scuola, al Morazzone ed al Bergognone. La chiesa risale all'anno 1.050 ed è stata eretta dai Certosini, gli stessi che gestivano la Certosa di Pavia. Nel 1.400 fu ampliata mentre nel 1.557 fu ingrandita costruendo nel sotterraneo un grande cimitero per gli appestati, i cui scheletri sono visibili ancora oggi. The church of S. Ambrogio is located in the oldest part of the city of Rozzano, the hamlet of "Old Rozzano". The church is important for its history and for the frescoes that adorn its interior, attributed to Bernardino Luini and his school, to Morazzone and to Bergognone. The church dates back to the year 1.050 and was built by the Carthusians, the same ones who managed the Certosa di Pavia. In 1.400 it was enlarged while in 1.557 it was enlarged by building a large cemetery in the basement for the plague victims, whose skeletons are still visible today.
