Da wir nur wenig italienisch können und mit englisch in Sizilien nicht wirklich weit kommt, hatten wir anfangs etwas Bauchschmerzen.
Glücklicherweise war der Inhaber zu unserem Erstaunen der deutschen Sprache mächtig, dadurch verlief die Kommunikation unproblematisch.

We had a flat tire on our summer vacation and we found this tire workshop by chance.
Since we don't speak much Italian and can't really get very far with English in Sicily, we had a bit of a stomachache at the beginning.
Fortunately, to our astonishment, the owner spoke German, which meant that communication was unproblematic.
