Dall 1990, anno in cui è iniziata l'ammodernamento della linea Cadorna - Saronno, da completarsi per le Colombiadi del 1992 ma poi effettivamente completata con il progetto di MALPENSA2000 che in pochi anni ha visto modificarsi gli edifici adibiti appunto a stazione biglietterie, con l'abbattimento dei precedenti edifici di fine ottocento e soprattutto in questa linea con il superamento totale dei passaggi a livello, con quindi maggior sicurezza e maggior velocità nella mobilità. Pecca: una maggiore presenza e presidio da parte di personale in biglietteria e altri servizi non sarebbe proprio male accetta, anzi. In secondo maggiore manutenzione, sia di pulizia sia di funzionamento Ascensori, non sarebbe anche questa sgradita dagli utenti. In quegli stessi anni è venuto a mancare lo scrittore concittadino Giovanni Testori, e con l'occasione la nuova piazza che ne è scaturita, gli è stata dedicata come visibile anche da alcune foto. 03/2021 Classic railway station building before FNM currently FNM TRENORD.
