★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Al centro della piazza della Libertà si erge la statua commemorativa del passaggio di Vittorio Emanuele II a Giulianova.Famosa, in quella occasione,nel 1860, la frase di un popolano che, prendendo la parola, accusò ,tra lo sgomento dei presenti,il Re di essere un ladro,chiarendo poi che il Re era un ladro poiché aveva rubato il cuore degli abitanti di Giulia. E tutto si concluse con un fragoroso applauso rivolto a chi aveva lanciato " l'accusa" e al Re che comprese e apprezzò il buon cuore di colui che si espose a nome di tutto il popolo giuliese.
