Il viale, tutto pavimentato e dotato di una discreta illuminazione, costeggia da un lato il canale e dall'altro alcuni bar, friggitorie, piadinerie. Durante la camminata si notano i famosi trabucchi comacchiesi spesso in funzione. A circa metà del viale si incontra il piccolo traghetto che collega Porto Garibaldi a Lido degli Estensi.
