★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mo'Room is my favorite place for presents and souvenirs in Lucca, Italy. It is probably one of the smallest shops in Lucca, based in a former 'latteria' that has been preserved with care.
Everything in Mo'Room is hand made. No mass production here, only unique objects: art, earthenware, necklaces, rings, ... All objects have been lovingly made by Italian artists, craftswomen and men. Very fair prices.
A real bonus are the paintings by Simone Chelini, hospitable owner of Mo'Room, who will always find time for a chat. I'm a great fan of his work: I like the colors, the simple lines and the expressiveness.
Simone and Laura love to talk about culture, art, music, Lucca, the Italian way of life and good food. I always feel that I can ask them anything about 'the Italian way to ...' - they're always happy to explain.
By all means go to Mo'Room if you're looking for a personal present for one of your friends. You won't just find an original present, but also an interesting story. Ciao!
