Già dedicata a san Biagio, era la sede di una Compagnia che assisteva i condannati e i trovatelli; alla fine dell'Ottocento fu trasformata in Confraternita della Misericordia. Vi sono conservate due sculture lignee raffiguranti Sant'Antonio abate e San Biagio, attribuite rispettivamente ad Antonio Pardini e a Jacopo della Quercia, che sono tra le opere di più alta qualità prodotte in area lucchese tra la fine del Trecento e l'inizio del Quattrocento. Da segnalare anche l'Incoronazione della Vergine e santi (1550) di Lorenzo Cellini, l'elegante cantoria settecentesca, i dipinti murali della cappella dell'Addolorata attribuiti a Luigi Ademollo e i due grandi pannelli ad affresco, la Porta del Paradiso e la Porta dell'Inferno, di Fernando Botero (1993). Fu costruita intorno al 1300 e si possono ammirare tele, affreschi e statue lignee di pregio del 1500. Entrando, a destra e sinistra, due grandi affreschi di Botero. Da visitare assolutamente! A	Antonella Bonvicino on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Botero, c'è chi lo ama e chi meno, certamente è un artista con un background culturale notevole, che ha lungamente studiato i maestri del passato e che ama l'Italia con passione, tanto da vivere nella piccola Atene, Pietrasanta, parte dell'anno ed infatti ha donato due splendidi affreschi dedicati all' inferno e al paradiso alla cittadina, nella chiesa della Misericordia. Da vedere assolutamente. Pietrasanta non è solamente un luogo con buoni ristoranti, ma soprattutto un luogo di cultura e bellezza da sempre, basti pensare a Michelangelo, a Barsanti, a Carducci a D'Annunzio. F	Franco Palazzi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Percorrendo lentamente via Mazzini verso piazza Duomo si rischia di tralasciare la visita alla bellissima chiesetta di Sant'Antonio e San Biagio o della Misericordia, contrassegnata da una modesta facciata inserita tra le abitazioni adiacenti. Sarebbe un peccato perché questa chiesa, risalente al XIV secolo e sede di una compagnia che prestava assistenza ai trovatelli ed ai condannati e gestiva l'annesso spedale, offre un'atmosfera di grande fascino ed opere d'arte d'indubbio valore. Tra queste si notano in particolare i due grandi affreschi (la Porta del Paradiso e la Porta dell'inferno) dell'artista colombiano Fernando Botero, a lungo residente in città. Una sosta qui rinfresca il corpo e lo spirito. All'interno nella porta del paradiso vi è raffigurata Madre Teresa di Calcutta,e lo stesso Botero a simboleggiare un guerriero, mentre nella porta dell'inferno vi è raffigurato Adolf Hitler e Pablo Escobar trafficante Colombiano dell'epoca... Merita una visita per apprezzare due notevoli affreschi di Fernando Botero, il noto artista colombiano, aventi come titolo La Porta dell'inferno e la porta del paradiso. Nel primo l'artista rappresenta, ironicamente, anche se stesso e la moglie. Degne di nota due statue lignee raffiguranti Sant'Antonio Abate e San Biagio del Trecento-Quattrocento. Del Cellini è la pala "Incoronazione della Vergine e Santi" (1550).
