Si può trovare dall'ombrello alla tenda, dalle scarpe ai fiori, dalle pentole alla frutta. The Prato della Valle market is worth a visit. Going for the stalls is worth it. It can be found from umbrella to tent, from shoes to flowers, from pots to fruit.

Sono spariti gli ambulanti storici sostituiti da banchi di cineserie o resti di magazzino ed anche la clientela si è spostata forzatamente sul multietnico. Resta comunque la meravigliosa location del Prato della Valle, del Santo e di Santa Giustina che da sole valgono la passeggiata tra la folla che lo frequenta e la vista dell'isola (che non c'è) Memmia. Die Einheimischen mögen mir mein rudimentäres Italienisch verzeihen :-) Der Samstagsmarkt auf den '"Talwiesen" (sollte die wörtliche Übersetzung sein) ist schon etwas, was man mitnehmen sollte wenn man in Padua ist. Auch wenn Vieles neuer Billig-Ramsch ist, wie bei uns auch, man findet doch das eine oder andere Schnäppchen. Auf jeden Fall super ist das Angebot an Gemüse und Obst. Alles Klassen besser als das was man bei uns im Supermarkt findet, und regelrecht spottbillig. Wenn man dann noch das Privileg hat, nach einem Wolkenbruch einen Regenbogen beobachten zu können, wird das Schlendern durch die Stände noch mehr zum Vergnügen. The locals may forgive my rudimentary Italian :-) The Saturday market on the '"Talwiesen" (should be the literal translation) is something you should take with you when you are in Padua. Even if a lot is new cheap junk, as is the case with us, you can still find one or the other bargain. The range of vegetables and fruits is definitely great. All classes better than what you can find in our supermarket, and downright dirt cheap. When you have the privilege of watching a rainbow after a downpour, strolling through the stalls becomes even more of a pleasure.

Always nice to walk among the stalls, with trained and friendly sellers. A bit chaotic during the afternoon when you have to be careful with your bags.
