★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Villa Giusso is a family owned gem on the hilltop overlooking Sorrento, Vico Equense and the whole Naples Bay. The ancient monastery is still family home of the count and on the the vast family estate you will discover olive trees, figs, a few animals and vegetables.
You can either stay in the old simple cells of the nuns in little houses or in the main villa complex in beautifully furnished apartments.
We definitely recommend having dinner in the house where all guests and some family members come together to enjoy an Italian meal all prepared from local and fresh produce!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I brought my wife, her mother, and our two children (ages 4 and 1) here for dinner during our five day visit to the Sorrento area in late September. Before our meal, we were given a tour of the grounds, which included breathtaking cliff-top views of Sorrento, the Bay of Naples, and the surrounding hills. Our hostess also led us through the interior of the main building, where we saw an attic filled with antiques (and a wall of framed photos of a dozen or so Nobel Laureates who have visited the property), and a main hallway with multiple giant paintings from the 1700s. The communal seating at dinner -- and the delicious food (plus desert, wine, and limoncello), capped off a delightful evening that we'll never forget.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Owned and run by the same family for generations this B&B is a former monastery in the hills above Vico Equense and Seiano. The property is now fully renovated as an inn, restaurant and family museum. The pool, gardens, local park and deck are great places to stroll and relax. Because it's located on a hill directly above Sorrento, the views below, out to the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius are spectacular. Overall a beautiful property with kind and helpful hostess and staff that truly do their best to make you feel at home. Excellent selection and well prepared food for breakfast and dinner that includes wine and dessert. Food is served buffet style at community tables in the gorgeous old tiled kitchen with a wood burning oven. Pizza night was delicious and really fun! Rooms are available in the main house as well as in nearby smaller buildings. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Roads in the area are narrow and sometimes not marked well. Get detailed directions, rent a small car and be prepared to get a little lost. Watch for Villa Giusso signs leading to the property or use Google Maps.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We contacted Masseria Astapiana from our hotel in Positano and asked if they could provide us with dinner and a tour. They arranged transportation for us (there and back) and showed us around the beautiful premises. The drive from Positano was nice.
Tullio and Giulia were wonderful, and knew everything about the history of their family's place. We finished the night with a great dinner on a terrace. This is a very small operation - we were one of only a few groups there.
The quiet was a nice break from Positano. I would recommend this experience to anyone.

Stay in a historical estate, be inspired by the landscape around and feel the freedom of the nature.
I've been to many spots on earth, but this one was really outstanding.
