★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As you walk up the streets of Orvieto to reach the duomo and see one of the most popular Renaissance art work created by Luca Signorelli, adorning the walls and ceilings in the form of breathtaking biblical scenes painted in colorful frescoes, you pass by a tiny art studio located at the corner of the street. It is Marino Moretti’s shop where he displays his ceramics and welcomes visitors and explains his work with an allure that gives a sense that he is the son of great artists of Italy and he is determined to continue the tradition. Some of the designs have been obviously influenced by the art scenes on the walls of the duomo. Each object stands by itself. You may not be able to afford them but it is certainly worthwhile to stop and discover Moretti’s work and get a taste of a contemporary art before or after you see a grandiose example of historical art inside the duomo.
