Great welcome, superb service that you will only find in a family run restaurant, fantastic steaks. As a Yorkshireman and an ex-chef I know a thing or two about our nation’s favourite food - CHIPS! I have never seen them served better than at Mama’s! If you are ever in Letojanni you must eat here

Meat lovers must go. Meat cooked like it should. Waiter super welcoming and friendly, good at his job and above all excellent salesman... One recommendations on chips/ fries, switch to homemade !

Fab restaurant-even for a vegetarian! I never thought I’d say one of my best meals would be at a steakhouse, but…! Amazing food, great service, we were so looked after and will be full for days! I’m veggie and had lovely taglierei with salad/cheese, followed by an amazing dessert.

The food here is delicious! I really enjoyed it. (Not a lot of good restaurants in Letojanni. But this one was my favorite had a lot of good flavors! (Must also try out the fries it’s really yummy.I don’t like fries that much but it was so good I ate it all! Really nice Presentations. And the waiter who served us. He was really nice friendly. Definitely recommended this place.

I am of two minds about this restaurant: the food is definitely good, especially 10 days into a 2 week Sicilian vacation, it was nice to not eat pasta or fish and this was definitely a good piece of steak. Steaks were well cooked and plates were well presented and modern, some coming under a cloche filled with smoke and with flowers and other nice garnishes. Glasses of house red went well with the steaks and at a good price (4 euros). The staff was also very nice to take us without a reservation, mostly because we came to early. However, it is definitely overpriced and the servers are good at suggesting extras without telling you they are at an extra cost, especially when other restaurants would include such things in prices. For example, when asked if we wanted veggies or fries with our steaks, he didn’t mean as part of the dish - he meant to pay extra for a plate of either veggies or fries, which we each chose one and added 10+ euros to our bill (see photos for what you get for this, not much…). Also at the end, they offered limoncello or another liquor (forget the name) as a digestif - again, something offered for free in maaaaany italian restaurants (been 14x to Italy, this is a common experience). We agreed, but then i stopped myself and was wise enough to ask this time ‘is this for free’ and he finally admitted no, but that would have easily been another 10 euros to the bill. In both cases, he made it seem like it was part of the experience but was actually an attempt to pad the bill. Well played on his part, clearly skilled at this but is a bit shady. I think other servers would have more confidence to be open and honest with customers to at least say ‘for extra, do you want X’ instead of omitting the first part and letting ambiguity drive up the bill. Food is also a bit overpriced: Appetizer was 4 pieces of steak on brioche with a truffle sauce underneath - honestly was delicious, but not 22 euros delicious. Maybe 14-15 max, especially for 60-80g of steak. We each ordered a steak for mains too - one with peppercorn sauce and the other with pistachio crust. Again, both very good but not 22-23 euros good for what was a thin piece of steak. The owner will probably claim that the quality of meat justifies the price, but no where do they claim to have superior quality meat or anything. Atmosphere was also not worth the price, patio is on a busy side street without any wind from the sea - was quite warm and sticky, with cars and motos ripping by regularly. So, yeah, split on this one - was truly a delicious dinner, just didn’t appreciate the upselling in a quasi-greasy manner and was 20-30% over priced. If i could give 3.5 stars, I would… but the negatives just cannot push this to 4 stars, even with delicious food.
