La sorpresa è costituita dell'imponente carta dei vini e distillati, con alcune perle rare, come gli smoked whiskey e le grappe orientali. Ottima la cucina, con piatti della tradizione realizzati sul momento. Fantastica la carne, da provare gli apericena a base di formaggi scelti e salumi. Simpaticissimi i proprietari, Raffaella ed Emanuele, sempre pronti a consigliare anche il più ostico tra gli indecisi... Da non perdere. It is the surprise that, perhaps, you do not expect. Maela's is a nice hybrid between the bistro and the old village tavern. The surprise is the impressive wine and spirits list, with some rare pearls, such as smoked whiskeys and oriental grappas. Excellent cuisine, with traditional dishes made on the spot. The meat is fantastic, try the aperitifs based on selected cheeses and cold cuts. Very nice owners, Raffaella and Emanuele, always ready to advise even the most difficult among the undecided ... Not to be missed.

Consiglio la trippa, la coratella, un assaggio dell' ampia scelta dei formaggi. Lo chef si produce con buoni risultati in tutti i principali piatti della tradizione romana. Enoteca carina che offre anche la vendita al dettaglio di prodotti tipici e d' eccellenza. Consiglio una sosta piacevole all' enoteca Maela's. The place that was missing in Palombara is now there, a well-kept wine shop that combines the ability to drink and produce excellent wines, which characterizes the whole of our peninsula, with excellent products from the Sabine area and Lazio. I recommend the tripe, the offal, a taste of the wide choice of cheeses. The chef produces with good results in all the main dishes of the Roman tradition. Nice wine shop that also offers the retail sale of typical and excellent products. I recommend a pleasant stop at Maela's wine shop.

MI HANNO FATTO GLI GNOCCHI ALLA ZIZZONA, non conoscevo il mix amatriciana e carbonara. Un sapore unico, buonissimo, un motivo per tornare. Il prezzo del pranzo in due giustissimo. A presto P Characteristic place, the cave is beautiful. Attentive, nice and kind staff ALL. The dream cutting boards, abundant quality and presentation. I HAVE MADE GNOCCHI ALLA ZIZZONA, I did not know the amatriciana and carbonara mix. A unique, delicious flavor, a reason to come back. The price of lunch for two is absolutely right. See you soon P

Abbiamo assaggiato gli antipasti della casa con affettati vari, formaggi, bruschette, pasta e fagioli carciofi e olive e un paio di primi, un cacio e pepe e gnocchi salsiccia e cime, tutto buonissimo. Prezzi in linea con la qualità di quanto offerto. Ci siamo trovati bene e torneremo a trovarvi quando saremo in zona. Very nice managers. Excellent local cuisine and a wide choice of wines. We stopped for lunch. We tasted the antipasti of the house with various cold cuts, cheeses, bruschetta, pasta and beans, artichokes and olives and a couple of first courses, a cheese and pepper and gnocchi with sausage and tops, all very good. Prices in line with the quality of what is offered. We enjoyed it and will return to see you when we are in the area.

We spent 21 days being relatively disappointed in the food and having trouble finding restaurants to eat in Palombara. When we found this restaurant it was a Monday on our last day. We were starving and preparing again to be disappointed....we were not..at all. The service was amazing.. We speak limited Italian and the chef (who was also our server) came over and assisted. He taught us some Italian that would have been awesome to know early on in our trip. After ordering very specific meals, our chef prepared the food (which was awesome because you can hear your food being prepared as you wait). Then when we got our food, it was prepared EXACTLY as we wanted. I was so impressed so and I told our server/chef that when he returned and he proceeded to teach me how to make the sauce. THEN, as if it couldn't get any better, we ordered a couple of glasses of champagne and he suggested a bottle that was comparable in price (woohoo!). The layout of the restaurant is awesome. Not only is it in a beautiful part of the town, but the restaurant itself has a really cool area in the back that was a 1900's mining area. They have seating back there that is so awesome. It's perfect because the chef said it was cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter plus the ambiance is so damn cool. Basically what I am saying is that this place is amazing. Period. Just absolutely amazing.
