★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ricordo benissimo quel giorno gli occhi di Uma incontrarono quelli di Chiara. Fu un attimo e si scatenò un empatia pazzesca... noi genitori entrammo in punta di piedi, impauriti, ignari di quello che poteva aspettarci, in fondo si trattava di lasciare nostra figlia nelle mani di una perfetta estranea di cui non conoscevamo le competenze. Ricordo quella voce calda e potente, il sorriso e quella professionalità che poche volte si incontrano in certi ambienti.
Uma ha una malattia genetica rara che non le permette di parlare, che la limita nei movimenti e tanto altro ancora. Fino a quel momento era un guscio vuoto per tanti poi è arrivata Chiara che ha saputo vedere il mondo pieno di colore racchiuso in quel piccolo involucro. Ha saputo vederlo ma ha anche saputo tirarlo fuori in tutta la sua bellezza.
Ricordo una canzoncina in particolare “ la canzone della felicità” quella che cantavano insieme, ognuna a suo modo e che riempiva quella fredda stanza di sorrisi e risate. Quella canzoncina che oggi è diventata la colonna sonora della nostra vita.
Oggi Uma comunica, interagisce e urla al mondo “guardate chi sono!!!”. Oggi, grazie a Chiara, Uma è felice e noi genitori abbiamo ricominciato a vivere.

I remember very well that day Uma's eyes met Chiara's. It was a moment and a crazy empathy was unleashed ... we parents entered on tiptoe, afraid, unaware of what could expect us, after all it was a matter of leaving our daughter in the hands of a perfect stranger whose skills we did not know. I remember that warm and powerful voice, the smile and that professionalism that you rarely meet in certain environments.
Uma has a rare genetic disease that does not allow her to speak, which limits her movements and much more. Until that moment it was an empty shell for many, then Chiara arrived and she was able to see the world full of color enclosed in that small envelope. She was able to see it but she also knew how to bring it out in all its beauty.
I remember one song in particular "the song of happiness" that they sang together, each in its own way and that filled that cold room with smiles and laughter. That song that today has become the soundtrack of our life.
Today Uma communicates, interacts and shouts to the world "look who I am !!!". Today, thanks to Chiara, Uma is happy and we parents have started living again.
