★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I visited Locanda SCIALAPOPOLO on a Saturday night in mid-October 2019. Two hungry Americans anxiously waiting for resturants to open at 8:00 PM we chose this venue due to its proximity to our B&B and the online reviews. We couldn't have been more fortunate in our selection!
Entering the restaurant we were among the first diners seated. Our server, Antonella,took special attention to make sure we understood the menu even though we didn't speak Italian. She brought us uncooked pasta, showed us pictures and was incredibly patient as we made our choices.
The food,wine and beer (try the local brew) did not disappoint! If you are in the area, make sure to put Locanda SCIALAPOPOLO on your "don't miss" list....and say hi to Antonella for us!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had one of our best meals so far on this trip to Italy at this little place. The owner Alphonso is a gem of a person, a truly great host. The place specializes in authentic local cuisine, made from locally sourced ingredients.
We started with the scialapopolo antipasto. I had the linguine with salted fish while my wife had pasta with chickpeas; a local favorite that was not not on the menu. Alphonso’s wife was kind enough to make it for my wife as a special request.
The second plate of grilled pork loin was perfection. The meat was tender and full of flavor.
Topped the meal off with a slice of home made baba and a shot of expresso.
Will definitely be coming back when we visit next.
Well worth the detour if you are driving through the area.
