Very enjoyable experience in and outside the classroom. Enthusiastic teachers, students from all over the world in a beautiful environment. Interesting outings where everyone speaks Italian to the best of their ability. Highly recommend this school

We would like to comment on Koine Language School. My wife and I attended classes there for three years. We had a delightful time and received an excellent introduction to Italian. As a result, we have felt comfortable communicating in Italian wherever we have traveled in Italy. During our three years at Koine, we experienced only two criticisms of the program. One of our fellow students felt the administration was less than desired. We did not feel this was true but in any case the person responsible for administration has since left Koine. The other criticism was from an American who felt she was forced to think too much and stated she would have preferred a less rigorous program. Personally, we liked being part of a program that was both fun AND resulted in our being truly immersed in the language. While our opinion is just our own, it would seem to be supported by others as Koine has been awarded Excellence Awards for the last five years in a row from Language Course S.L., a firm that specializes in evaluating language courses across Europe. In all cases, their evaluations are based on β€œevaluations from former students.” We believe having two language schools in Lucca is healthy because it results in competition that will encourage both programs to improve. However, there is no question in our minds we would choose Koine for a first rate education in Italian. Frannie and Bill Rich

Iacopo Γ¨ un ottimo insegnate. Bravissimo! I just finished two weeks here and was challenged by (good) and enjoyed (even better) my time at LIS. The school is set in a lovely old palazzo but with modern facilities - the classrooms are light and airy but there is aircon when needed. The classes are kept in italian but there's quite a bit of drawing and miming which is cause for considerable mirth. Our teacher, Iacopo, was very good, having the right mix of discipline, humour, patience and challenge for our class. Interesting mix of students too, from all over the world. Angelo, Daniela and the rest of the team run a great school. And they all seem to enjoy doing it which rubs off on the students.

Highly recommended! I met with Daniela and Angelo for coffee several years ago during a stay in Lucca. They are amazing people, and the Lucca Italian School is wonderful. They take fantastic care of their students. Mio padre era nato vicino a Lucca quindi lui Γ¨ Lucchese. I hope to return and study at Lucca Italian School to improve my Italian. Look no further. You have found your Italian school!

I attended the school in September 2013 for two weeks. I loved everything about my experience starting from initial communication with the school, arranging for my stay to the daily classes and afternoon activities. The instructors are professional, hard workers and very friendly. I was exited each time for the events outside of the classroom time. I highly recommend, the school that is small but full of value. I am going back this September as well, can't wait.

My wife and I are currently attending Lucca Italian School and are very pleased with the lessons. The instructors are competent and patient. Since we are here in the winter, class sizes are small. The afternoon activities have been interesting and enjoyable. Some of them, such as a visit to a chestnut museum, we would never have been able to take on our own. The chestnut museum is virtually unknown, but that visit was fascinating, as I saw not only how the chestnut supported the people here but also the ancient tools they used to get the most out of the trees. Even though this school is still relatively new, the instructors have many years of experience. The website is well done and the school is quick to respond to email inquiries.

Great experience in the heart of Lucca. The school is very professional and fast in communication prior to your arrival. The facility is clean and everyone is very friendly. There is a car park next to the school (for a day I paid around €10) I booked the one week practical course and additional (individual private) lessons in the afternoon. I definitely feel like i've learned a lot of the Italian language. At the end I could follow a conversation and start making small sentences. It's a difficult language to learn so don't expect miracles after a week. I had two great teachers Francesca and Eva who we're very patient and experienced in taking you through the basics. I didn't attend any after school activities but they have some cool options you can sign up to. Highly recommend this school to anyone interested.

Lucca Italian school is the perfect place to learn Italian. Even if you’re looking for an online course to learn Italian while being in your home country. The school is offering online classes to learn Italian using Zoom or Skype. They offer private and small group classes. The school is very flexible and will try to accommodate to your wishes. I have been to the school 4 times and can now compare virtual classes to classes in Lucca (Toscana). The online classes are an intense in-depth experience which really doesn’t have to shy away from the comparison. While being in self isolation due to Corona in Germany, the classes are the perfect little vacation for mind and soul. It’s a very welcome change from being home alone. My class has five students: two from the Netherlands, one from the USA and, with me, two Germans. I love that we can have this international experience even though the world is under Corona-Lockdown. You will get the opportunity to speak and hear a lot of Italian in an intense and very cheerful class. All the teachers of Lucca Italian School are great and now you can exercise your mind at home and practice for your next visit in Italy once all this is over. And once we can travel safely again, I would highly recommend booking a vacation at Lucca to have the local experience in a wonderful town in Italy.
