★ ★ ★ ★ ★ E’ una delle scuole più antiche di Messina, istituita con la denominazione di Regia Scuola Normale Maschile alla fine dell’800. Con la riforma Gentile, nel 1923, divenne Regio Istituto Magistrale Statale e successivamente Istituto d’Istruzione Superiore. Cambiò più volte sede a causa del terremoto del 1908 e poi di un violentissimo incendio. Operò per quasi 50 anni nella sede storica dell’antico edificio del Pio Ospizio Collereale. Dal novembre 2003 la scuola è stata trasferita sul Viale Annunziata, in un palazzo moderno a tre piani, con ampi spazi e aule luminose. Possiede un’aula multimediale, una biblioteca, un laboratorio di Chimica e Fisica, una bella sala riunione.
Attualmente l’Istituto ha tre indirizzi di studio, Liceo Scientifico, Liceo Linguistico, Liceo delle Scienze Umane.
Sotto la guida dinamica della Dirigente Scolastica Anna Maria Gammeri, è una scuola multidisciplinare, che si impegna a preparare i giovani alla vita dando loro una buona qualità d’istruzione, libera ed al passo con i tempi, con lo sguardo attento al futuro e all’Europa.
It is one of the oldest schools in Messina, established under the name of Regia Scuola Normale Maschile at the end of the 1800s. With the Gentile reform, in 1923, it became a Royal State Magistral Institute and later an Institute of Higher Education. It changed location several times due to the earthquake of 1908 and then to a very violent fire.
