Local food... okay, but very small portions, and quite expensive for the things you get (15Euro/pers.) There is no menu, you can not choose, just eat what everyone eats...from plastic plates with a plastic fork. If you don't speak Italian, you are lost...can't ask about the food, neither complain. A group before us got their orechiette+ragu with meat, we did not...and paid the same price. Aaand don't expect to get a bill!
It can sound romantic that old ladies prepare your food on the street, but the whole stuff together is disappointing.
I would give -2 stars, but unfortunately there is no such option.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went there because of a friend's recommendation, who visited the place 2 years ago. Carmela went out her form or it was just a fairy tale that she is a grear chef, honestly, she is not good at all. Her meal was one of the worsest food experience in Italy. 3 small portion food, included just gigant amount fat and carbonhydrates with some veggies no cheese or meat all. Service is unpolite, price is just overrated(and it seems to just looking your face), no bill. Never ever again!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We ordered one small portion of orecchiette (very simple, only with tomato sauce) and risotto, again, ‘assaggino’ as we were told... Then the lady brought two polpette and one small meat roll, some fried polenta and few little balls of fried dough. All very simple which was ok till we were charged 20 euroes.. I found it expensive for for those very small ‘assaggini’.. Also, we weren’t given a scontrino.. :-((

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must visit place when in Bari. Try the Sgagliozze, deep fried polenta with salt, very nice. We then had the Orecchiette with verdura, nicely spicy (with chili), unfortunately very salty. Two portions of Sgagliozze, two portions of Orecchiette and two minerals with gas, total EUR 20. The owner lady is a phenomenon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was very good. Felt like an authentic meal with Carmela! She just brought out some food and the environment was great. Hard to find, but it’s in the middle of ‘Largo Albicocca’ if you search that in google or on the tourist maps they hand out.
