β β β β β A consistently disappointing experience. The food presented on the day (opted for a la carte lunch over the set lunch) lacked finesse and moreover the whole duck we ordered for two, whilst huge, was inconsistently cooked, and mainly overcooked starting with an almost burnt glaze. The modernist techniques and playfulness of the past are long gone and the other single Michelin stars have caught up. Mainly a business and suited crowd on a busy Friday lunch. Other diners out of towners who remember a Jason Atherton brand of another era.

β β β β β I had dinner here before and at that time the quality of food was awesome. But this time it was a big let down. The chicken kebab was hard and very fibrous. The fresh lime they served was terribly bitter. When we complained they just took it back and brought it back after adding some sugar to it. I found this truly unprofessional for the price point they are at.

β β β β β Definitely a game of 2 halves. We went for the chefs counter experience, which I would not do again, half way through the tasting menu it shut down and the chefs disappeared. We left after 4 1/2 hours when there were still 2 courses to go, after the fish course arrived cold and a sub par cheese course. Such a shame, its definitely tough for hospitality at the moment, but really for the money they are charging the service should not have dropped off the way it did. We last went to Pollen St a couple of years ago and left disappointed and have done again this evening which is unfortunate. There are just better options in London for the money, we won't be back.

β β β β β One of the two mains was a set of boiled and then vaguely roasted root vegetables with some very flat sauce, disappointing to say the least. The other main was a risotto so salty my fiance had to drink half a bottle of water to flush it down, and I just couldn't bring myself eating it.
One of the deserts was a sorbet, sorbet often being the only vegan desert available at any restaurant, it's disappointing to see it on a menu boasting some creativity.
The second desert was equally a sorbet, on top of a tofu chocolate parfait, I am a dark chocolate lover and I am sorry to say that the parfait was plain and lacked taste.
In conclusion, don't pretend, do the right thing and hire a vegan chef.

β β β β β Had a lovely birthday dinner at Le Cupole. The sea front view is fantastic especially at sunset. Food was really nice and most importantly it was a real culinary experience, not just every day food to fill up the belly. Every dish was something I had never tried before, you could feel the creative touch of the chef.

β β β β β Located above a hotel, Le Cupole has a wonderful view facing west, perfect for sunset. The menu offers many pasta and seafood dishes, as well as a variety of other options. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. Be sure to reserve ahead for tables on the outdoor terrace closest to the water for unobstructed views.
Solid meal, nice atmosphere, will be most remembered for the wonderful view.
