★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Basically we visit Lake Garda every year and Como bi-yearly and we llve them both. BUT this lake is so beautiful and unique. It is a mountain lake just north of Riva del Garda on a picturesque windy road at about 600m above sea level. The lake is an Amazing turquoise colour because the water is so clean. We were here in July and I would estimate the water temperature was at about 22 degrees Celsius. Firstly, we took a stroll around the entire lake which takes about an hour to see this natural splendour from all sides. As the path is a bit rough I would recommend trainers or good sturdy flip flops at the least. For swimming you will probably need swimming shoes. Another tip, at the weekend, it seems that the local Italians come here to avoid the tourist crowds on Garda which does mean it gets pretty busy, pretty quickly. Even though there is plenty space around the lake to set up on, the parking is somewhat limited, so get there early to avoid disappointment. Talking about parking, except for a few free spaces on the road leading up to the lake, the official car parks are pay and display and cost 2 euros per hour, so take plenty of change (coins) with you if you want to spend the day there. All in all, it is a must see for all those staying or passing the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful lake where you can swim as well as take a hike around it. The water is beautiful and cool, perfect to freshen up on a hot day. it gets busy on the weekends though.
The parking next to the lake is paid but there is free parking on the side of the road just about 5 minutes on foot.
