Di particolare importanza per il comune di Montespertoli, il cui territorio è molto esteso e ricco di oliveti e boschi.
Da notare che nel Comune non esiste una caserma di Vigili del fuoco, per cui il tempestivo intervento dei Volontari della Racchetta permette molto spesso di spegnere i principi d'incendio prima che il focolai si espandano diventando difficilmente gestibili.
