★ ★ ★ ★ ★ B&B molto carino. Camere accoglienti. Situato nel borgo antico del paese in posizione panoramica. Personale stupendo, accogliente e molto disponibile. Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. Al ristorante si mangia benissimo. Gestito da giovani intraprendenti. Li consiglio!
Very nice B&B. Cozy rooms. Located in the ancient village of the town in a panoramic position. Gorgeous, welcoming and very helpful staff. Excellent value for money. At the restaurant you can eat very well. Run by enterprising young people. I recommend them!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Struttura meravigliosa, curata nei minimi dettagli al punto che riesce ad immedesimarti nell''epoca del Medioevo, atmosfere davvero magica. Personale gentilissimo e accogliente, esperienza da ripetere assolutamente. A mio parere è in tutti i sensi un posto da sogno e mai avrei pensato esistessero luoghi così belli nella mia regione.
Wonderful structure, with attention to the smallest details to the point that it manages to identify you in the Middle Ages, a truly magical atmosphere. Staff very kind and welcoming, experience to be repeated absolutely. In my opinion it is in every sense a dream place and I never thought there were such beautiful places in my region.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Inaspettato. Un bellissimo ristorantino ritagliato negli edifici ricchi di vita passata di una piccola comunità rurale della Lucania, Oppido Lucano, finemente ristrutturati e arredati. Decisamente apprezzabile la musica di sottofondo scelta con cura e riprodotta a volume basso per permettere la convivialità. La scelta dei brani di buon gusto sottolinea la passione dei quattro giovani ragazzi che gestiscono il locale. Vanessa, simpatica e accogliente, ha fatto di tutto per farci sentire a nostro agio, come a casa, nell'assaggio dei sapori tipici rivisitati in chiave moderna e ben presentati. Qualità superiore e prezzi adeguati completano un'esperienza da rivivere presto.
Unexpected. A beautiful restaurant cut out of the buildings full of past life of a small rural community in Lucania, Oppido Lucano, finely restored and furnished. The background music chosen with care and played at low volume to allow conviviality is definitely appreciable. The choice of tasteful songs underlines the passion of the four young guys who run the place. Vanessa, nice and welcoming, did everything to make us feel at ease, like at home, in tasting the typical flavors revisited in a modern way and well presented. Superior quality and reasonable prices complete an experience to be relived soon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Basilicata is a wonderful place and La Portella is in the middle of it.
I received always the best service during my 7 days of holiday: a beautiful comfortable room, friendly and very helpful staff, well prepared breakfast, excellent typical dinner in the restaurant with lots of regional wines available (very fair prices).
Within one hour by car you can reach lots of cultural/ natural relevant places: Matera (European capital of culture 2019), national parks (Dolomiti Lucane, Alta Murgia, Cilento and Vallo di Diano...), Laghi di Monticchio, Castel del Monte etc pp.
Bike rental (also E-Bike) possible.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bad experience. Very noisy, not quiet hotel. Sound street and people, music. Impossible to sleep because a lot of noise and smoke from neighbors restaurant and bar. Impossible to open the windows to air move and no windows shutters. Industrial breakfast. Photo's windows room, the smoke area, it's room windows. Bad very confortable. Expensive. Disappointing.
