Pizza was fine, but not the best. Service doesn't speak in English so that's a big minus.

I eat here very often because of the great pizza (best pizza in town) and the great service. Easy 5 stars :)

The best pizza in pavia no question. I highly recommend that you go there, you won't be disappointed.

La Nuova Margellina was one of the Best pizza restaurant I've visited in Pavia. They have nice selection of vines (which I will try in next time) and delicious pizzas from Naples area. We ordered pizza with porcini and buratta on top and Mediterranea pizza, both were delicious. Highly recommended!

We had a craving for fish and based on a local’s recommendation - and the reviews here - we made a reservation. We were accompanied by a friend who speaks Italian, and after some discussion with one of the owners we decided to let her choose our dishes. More on this later. We had two antipasti: mussels baked in wine broth (some of the best we’ve tasted) and a warm, mixed seafood salad. Both portions were very generous and delicious. In fact, with the crispy, delicious fried bread that accompanied the mussels we were all feeling quite satisfied. Our Italian-speaking friend was sure that only one secondi was forthcoming. A gigantic bowl of mussels and clams in a delicious tomato broth with short pasta arrived; there was enough food in that bowl for at least four (probably five) people, but it was delicious and since it was the last course (or so we thought) we gamely did our best to eat as much as possible. We told the waiter we were quite done. Imagine our surprise when another platter arrived, this time a whole grilled and butterflied fish, resting on medallions of swordfish. Tasty? Yes. But even remotely necessary based on good sense? Not at all. Then yet another big plate of frito misto seafood arrived. Again, there was simply too much food by any reasonable standard. We couldn’t come remotely close to finishing either of these last secondi. Our companion who speaks fluent Italian commented early on that the woman who arranged our order was very assertive - he used the word β€œpushy” - and spoke very quickly even for him. After receiving the bill for €160 (which included two bottles of wine) we felt that some liberties had been taken by the owner. Bottom line: four stars for the food quality; two stars for the service and sense that we were taken advantage of.
