Quello che soffre oggi un migrante, potrei essere io a subirlo. In times like the ones we are living in, it is very important to know and reflect on what our grandparents or great-grandparents have suffered ... we are all in the same boat. Molto incisivi i pannelli che descrivono tutto quello che hanno vissuto i nostri nonni che tentavano la fortuna fuori Italia, in Europa, America oppure Australia...quante, anche talvolta inaspettate, similitudini con quello che sta avvenendo nella nostra epoca attuale...complimenti a chi ha ideato un museo di questo tipo! Whoever is in the Camigliatello area cannot fail to visit this wonderful "narrative museum" dedicated to the emigration of yesterday and today ... The panels that describe everything that our grandparents who tried their luck outside Italy were very incisive. in Europe, America or Australia ... how many, sometimes unexpected, similarities with what is happening in our current age ... congratulations to those who have created a museum of this type!

Ti fa riflettere su tanti temi attuali . Andateci ne vale veramente la pena e la nostra cultura sarà arricchita un po di più . If you happen to go to Sila go to the La Nave museum, a place of memory of our ancestors which leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, but it is a must to know. It makes you reflect on many current issues. Go there it is really worth it and our culture will be enriched a little more.

Ma in un filmato sbaglia il paragone tra passato delle immigrazioni italiane con quelle che avvengono adesso in Italia. It tells the story of Italian immigration by means of photos, also representing the consideration of the Americans vis-à-vis the Italians (Italians were considered inferior beings). But in a movie the comparison between the past of Italian immigration with those that occur now in Italy is wrong.

Per la visita completa basta un'oretta (ma al piano superiore c'è anche una biblioteca e una sala con postazioni informatiche in cui potere ulteriormente approfondire l'argomento emigrazione). Attualmente il museo è anche poco pubblicizzato e, infatti, l'affluenza anche in un pomeriggio nella settimana di ferragosto, ossia alta stagione, era piuttosto bassa; è un peccato, vale davvero la pena visitarlo. È dedicato all'emigrazione dei calabresi e degli italiani, dalla fine dell'ottocento in poi. Quindi, oggi, tratta un tema estremamente attuale, ricordandoci che un secolo fa eravamo noi ad emigrare per sopravvivere, eravamo noi italiani a temere chi non voleva che entrassimo nei loro Paesi. eravamo noi a fare traversate oceaniche in condizioni disumane. Come altri prima di me hanno scritto, esci con la sensazione di "aver ricevuto un pugno nello stomaco". Accanto c'è pure una bella caffetteria (poco fornita a dire la verità) Consigliato, per tutti, giovani e meno giovani. Consigliato soprattutto perché ben fatto. The small museum is well done. For the complete visit, just an hour or so (but upstairs there is also a library and a computer room where you can further explore the topic of emigration). Currently the museum is also little publicized and, in fact, the turnout also in an afternoon in the week of August, that is high season, was rather low; it's a shame, it's really worth a visit. It is dedicated to the emigration of Calabrians and Italians, from the end of the nineteenth century onwards. p	pamela gatto on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un museo ben fatto ma poco conosciuto. In una mattina di Agosto eravamo gli unici visitatori. Il biglietto d' ingresso é di appena 3€. L' unica sala espositiva è strutturata come la prua di un transatlantico, con tutt' intorno pannelli espositivi che narrano ed illustrano la storia dell'emigrazione. All'interno dei "fumaioli" si possono visionare video d' epoca, ascoltare musiche a tema e vedere la riproduzione di un alloggio di terza classe. Davvero commovente ed istruttivo. Consigliato! A well-made but little known museum. On one August morning we were the only visitors. The entrance ticket is just € 3. The only exhibition hall is structured like the bow of an ocean liner, with display panels around it that narrate and illustrate the history of emigration. Inside the "smokestacks" you can view vintage videos, listen to themed music and see the reproduction of a third class accommodation. Really moving and instructive. Recommended!

Per me è stata una piacevolissima scoperta perchè, pur venendo ogni anno in Calabria vicino Rossano, non ne conoscevo l'esistenza. Sicuramente questo museo meriterebbe di essere valorizzato e pubblicizzato meglio. I pannelli ricostruiscono una traccia del complesso tema dell'emigrazione italiana ed iniziano a colmare una lacuna davvero scandalosa della nostra memoria storica. Si dovrebbe studiare, insegnare, ricordare e divulgare in modo molto più attento e capillare in tutta Italia questo capitolo essenziale per comprendere la nostra identità nazionale. Non una vergogna da nascondere, ma la memoria doverosa, consapevole e grata dei tanti sacrifici compiuti da tutti coloro che partendo hanno pagato il prezzo del nostro sviluppo. Absolutely not to be missed !!! For me it was a very pleasant discovery because, although I came to Calabria every year near Rossano, I didn't know it existed. Surely this museum deserves to be enhanced and better publicized. The panels reconstruct a trace of the complex theme of Italian emigration and begin to fill a truly scandalous gap in our historical memory. This essential chapter for understanding our national identity should be studied, taught, remembered and disseminated in a much more careful and widespread way throughout Italy. Not a shame to hide, but the dutiful memory, aware and grateful of the many sacrifices made by all those who have paid the price of our development.
