★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been going there for 15 years, whenever I spent time in the area in early spring and late autumn. They used to have great service, friendly people, very good Italian food, good red wine and reasonable prices. The Abbazia used to be my very favourite restaurant in the area and I went there almost every evening, whenever I was around.
During my last 5 day stay in Feruary this year, I only went there one time.
Why?
The restaurant lost most of its flair during the expansions over the years. Unfortunately the quality of foods and service also seems to have suffered meanwhile. It felt quite impersonal and sterile.
The bread meanwhile is just bad and the red house wine did not taste great. Salad and Pizza were still good but you can get them at the same or better quality with more friendly service for less money in other nearby places.
While in my first review I gave them 5 stars, I downgraded to 4 stars a couple of years ago and meanwhile I cannot give them more than 3 stars.
I used to love this place and I feel sorry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super staff. Excellent waitress (one with tattoos very friendly- thank you :) Not expensive. Had dinner there two times it was very busy. They had good beer and prosecco. Also very good antipasti. They give bread and grappa or limoncelo as a compliment. Super pizza. Situated at the end of the town next to the camping. Very big parking lot infront. Impressed wifh the quality of the food. Totally worth it. Cheap for Italy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love this restaurant, and so do the locals. Corona-safe, large outdoor area (roofed), and plenty of space allowing for suitable distancing inside.
Really nice menu with a variety of starters with interesting local twists, likewise traditional first and second courses. Also lots of Pizza variations. Nice desserts too. I definitely recommend Meringata.
Been here many times over past years, has always been a pleasure.
