Ich habe nun schon das vierte Mal das L' Istituto Venezia besucht. Es macht wirklich viel Spaß mit den so sympathischen jungen Lehrern und deren ganzheitlichen Lernmethode zu lernen. Diese bringen eine ganze Menge Geduld auf , für ihre Schüler aus verschiedenen Ländern und deren unterschiedlichen Lernfortschritte. Die freiwilligen und kostenlosen Nachmittagsangebote mit Stadtführungen und Besuch von kulturellen Einrichtungen sind sehr informativ. So lernt man auch Mitschüler/ innen aus den anderen Kursen kennen und kann Bekanntschaften und manchmal auch längere Freundschaften mit interessanten Menschen aus aller Welt schließen, die man sonst kaum so gut kennenlernen kann. Die schöne Schule liegt, gut von überall erreichbar, an dem interessanten Campo Margeritha , einem beliebten Platz, auf dem sich viele Studenten aufhalten. Und das Wichtigste : man lernt in den kleinen Gruppen wirklich sehr schnell und gut Italienisch sprechen und schreiben - ohne Druck und Leistungskontrollen. Jeder kann sein Lerntempo und seine Fortschritte selbst bestimmen. Den angebotenen Kochkurs sollte man unbedingt besuchen: Anna ist die temperamentvollste und lustigste Köchin, die ich je kennengelernt habe. Wir hatten mit ihr einen wundervollen Abend mit Prosecco, Tanz und Musik .

I’ve moved all my life and as a consequence, I have had gaps in my education— in this case grammar. It goes without saying that learning another language and it’s grammar when you only picked up your own from simply reading books, that there would be problems and doubts understanding another language. This school here doesn’t pull any punches, from the get go it’s 100% italiano. Yet I’ve never so thoroughly enjoyed learning as I have here. Never actually thought I’d have gotten this far and yet I’m comprehending more than I thought could be possible in just a few months already. Pros and cons? Pros: Every single teacher is not just friendly, the entire staff consists of genuinely good people who really thrive on teaching. Diversity. Unless you opt for private tutoring, you’ll being in an ever changing class mash up of all kinds of people from around the world. While most countries know some English, working together with or without the language barrier to understand and improve your italain has been completely enjoyable. Freestyle mine-ing. Since it’s full immersion, you’ll find yourself, teachers, and others playing never ending charades and come on, it’s educational and sometimes hilarious. You won’t likely forget the word. Never too much; you work with two teachers with a nice coffee break between their lessons, which often compliment each other and give you a much needed break from the thorough workout you’ll be getting. Though it’s four hours of lessons, I’ve never felt the time drag on. They keep you involved but not overwhelmed. It’s not hardcore, it’s steady for sure, but gentle enough where you won’t feel fatigued from the 4 hour mental pushups. Cons For me? Morning classes. Its not ridiculously early but personally I’d rather a couple more hours to rest before my brain is bombarded with anything that isn’t food. Rain. This is really a seasonal thing and should be noted that October is the worst for floods in Venezia. So plan for that. Saying goodbye. Funny that, isn’t it? I doubt many of us actually were excited to go to classes. I’m still at a loss at what I’ll do when I will no longer need my lessons as I’ve come to enjoy the staff there. Frankly this little private school is like a family all on its own. You’ll find yourself missing your classmates too; make friends, and don’t be shy grabbing numbers. Its not bad to practice together either. Overall, this has been the single best educational decision in my lifetime and I can’t imagine topping it. Don’t by shy, you’ll make it just fine. If you want to really learn Italian, come here, it’ll leave you wiser, and a great deal happier.

This school has a wonderful group of teachers for students at any level of Italian language learning, located in the heart of Venice. The teachers are all highly qualified, and very friendly and eager to help students learn in a structured but relaxed environment. The Istituto Venezia also offers accommodations, which is a great benefit, in a busy city like Venice. The students I encountered during my 4 weeks of study were from all over the world, some staying for a week and others for months, but all engaged and with a passion for learning Italian. The class schedule is a nice balance of classroom time and free time every day, afternoons are free to participate in school sponsored activities that are free of charge or to explore on your own. After my classroom experience, I continue with Skype lessons offered at a reasonable cost to keep my Italian language skills sharp. I had a great experience and learned a lot - I highly recommend.

I went to the Istituto Venezia for two weeks each year for three years to start learning and then improve my Italian language. It's a lovely friendly school full of students of all ages from all parts of the world. The teachers are all fantastic and make lessons fun and informative. I took the morning classes which are immersive so you learn very quickly and soon feel able to talk to locals during the free afternoons and evenings. I recommend the Istituto Venezia to all my friends and hope very much to return one day myself.

I chose the one-on-one private tutor option, online as it allowed for more flexible times . The teachers were highly skilled, very friendly and great to work with. A problem was that the teachers changed too often so it was difficult to establish any continuity with the classes. Classes became too disjointed, with no broad structure to the learning process. Another problem was the confusion with admin about lesson duration, which i understand can happen when primary language is not shared. So overall, I am glad I did this as I now know what the one-on-one tutor service involves. But given the high cost, I think a better option would be to link in with an Italian teacher who can commit 100% to a long term structured arrangement.
