★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are very disappointed that during our stay in Riva we received a fine when entering the restricted zone to go to our hotel. Our hotel advised us to enter to be able to drop our bags and yet 3 months later we received a 96 euro fine!! As tourists in a city we rely on the advice and information provided by the service industry. It is important that the tourist industry can work together with local laws to ensure they provide accurate information.
This should be available on the hotel website as well as provided on confirmation of booking. Information such as: is there parking available on site, if not suggested areas to park and cost and if the hotel is in a restricted zone what is required to enter. This is essential basic information.
When travelling throughout Italy we are driving in and out of towns and cities and this information is useful. We do not know the town's and assume that parking or other basic amnenities are available. We certainly don't care if we have to park out of the city centre but it is HELPFUL to know this beforehand!!!
Please provide and support tourists with essential information provided through their accommodation stays..it would be wonderful!
