The house carved into the rock, in the historic center, a short distance from the main sites of interest, is beautiful. Tastefully furnished and functional. Fantastic experience.

Beautiful apartment, unique, carved into the rock, we spent a really wonderful weekend with our friends. Modica is really a favor box, we'll be back, we paid very little, € 75 for a night in 4 adults!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kinda new experience staying in an Italian house built upon the rock of the mountain. The place has 2 bedrooms, one bathroom (very unexpectedly beautiful), and a small kitchen. I really enjoy staying there.
Downside is that Il Vicolltto cannot be directly accessed by car. It's located upon the hill (rock mountain to be exact) with kinda steep slope. If you travel by car, you have to park the car on roadside and carry your belongings up the hill. It's not pleasant at all if you carry big luggage. I pack my stuff in my bagpack and left my luggage in the car.
Upside is the owner is very helpful and sk friendly. Despite not being fluent in English, someone (Mario Daraguza, to be exact) offered to pick me up from somewhere in the town and led me to the properties. Plus, managed to book a great Pizzaria Restaurant nearby. Lovely experience.
Strongly recommend those who come to Modica.
