★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have eaten at Il Piccolo Padre on several occasions as it near to where our family live. We have always had a really good experience and very good food. However, the meal that we had on Christmas Day was exceptionally good. The restaurant was fully booked and the service was very efficient and friendly. We will be eating here again soon when we next visit Milan.
I don't understand the low rating given in a previous review because "the basement is old fashioned"! What has this to do with the quality of the food and service?

Recently visited Milan, but we didn't realize everyone in the city takes vacation the last few weeks of August...meaning all of the good local restaurants were closed. We were so bummed out and didn't really know where we could find a restaurant with truly authentic Italian food, then someone recommended we try this place.
It was so awesome, they were open until 11pm and they didn't mind seating us even if it was 30min until closing time. We were also happy to find out that both the food and drinks were reasonably priced. Everything we had was so worth it, tasted homemade and super fresh. I would definitely check this place out if you're in the area and want to avoid a lot of the touristy restaurants near downtown.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything was good, tasty and fresh. The waitress was helpful and kind with us. They bring us another kind of pizza for my wife what she ordered but we not notified them, it was also delicious. This is the only reason of 4 star, otherwise everything is perfect. The prices are lower like in the city centre but the portions are bigger. It was full on Saturday evening 10.00 PM, so they do something very well... ;)
