Its quite nice. Its biggest selling point if you are staying in Monte Castello di Vibio is that its the only restaurant you can walk to. Not that easy to find and not well signed, it looks like someone's house... Probably because it is, its an adapted garage, but pleasantly done. Very small menu, choice of 2 .. We had gnocchi to start. It was very good and raised our hopes. The main was ok, my pork over-salted. It comes on its own, just meat on a plate. Vegetables are available on request but not offered. We discovered quite a few things are available but not offered, so ask. The wine was reasonably priced and service pleasant but i wouldnt choose this place if other options were available. You need to book.

You need to reserve here, as Massimo's restaurant is a small, family-run place, but you will be rewarded by the excellent standard of the food and wine they serve. Very pleasant to dine out in the garden during summer months and inside by the fire in winter.

We fell into Monte Castello di vibio by accident. It was a wrong turn that led us there, but it turned out to be the absolutely most right turn I could have made. Definitely if you're anywhere near that area, Il Grottino di zioToto resturant is a must! Maximo is the owner and chef there and he provides excellent fare and gracious service. This place is the real deal, it's not a tourist trap like in Rome where you pay forty bucks for a plate of pasta. Maximo serves traditional local fare at its finest.

We wanted a light lunch we got an extremely savoury and good light lunch. The chef proposes the plates of the day showing the attention he puts in the food he prepares, translating in a very good culinary experience at a reasonable price served with courtesy.

This is a wonderful place. We always have the fixed menu - antipasto pasta mains and desert. Fantastic value. In the summer it’s nice to sit on the terrace outside. In the colder months inside is warm and welcoming. The owner/chef is delightful. This restaurant is always busy so do book ahead. Locals and tourists love this restaurant and rightly so. The food is delicious, beautifully cooked with the best ingredients. Service is great.

Very authentic local family food with a touch of creativity. The restaurant is small and offers a choice of freshly maid dishes. Not many but genuinely seasonal and local. Follow the advices of the waitress! Our gnocchi truffle and sausage and the linguine with herbs were spectacular! The wild boar absolutely delicious and with a light touch for a potential very heavy meal. Highly recommended!

Signora Agnese served us excellent local food with a slightly creative touch and fixed us a great room for the night with her cousin! We felt so lucky.

What a wonderful restaurant. Massimo is a fantastic chef who comes out to take your orders and explain the dishes on the menu. The food was absolutely delicious and at a very reasonable price. All accompanied by a delightful view of the valley below, a great place to watch the sun set over drinks and dinner.
