Hotel Oliveto

-Clean room (we had the junior suite) -horrible breakfast -Ambiente seems like a youth hostel For sleeping ok, but nothing more…

Excellent staff and great bar service. Rooms are comfortable but not too spacious. The spa is okay but I'd suggest improving it, for instance by playing chill music and askig customers to be less noisy. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much :)

Firstly let's start with the plus points. ... In a stunning location with views of Lake Garda...quiet at night...plenty of hot water and a modern and clean reception area. Helpful staff in Reception. However I'm afraid there are far more minus points to this tired hotel. Our room on the third floor was very dated, to be fair the bathroom was nice and modern with a good shower and plenty of hot water. The towels were replaced everyday...the bed made etc. The Air Con was not working properly and was noisy..the safe was jammed shut and Reception staff could not reset it. My husband fixed it in the end. The plug sockets did not work in our room either with just one that could be used for kettle, chargers etc. But as we were out of the room a lot we managed. But by far the worst thing on this trip was the catering. As we were a coach party we all sat together in the restaurant. Thank goodness for the company and good humour of the party as the seating..service and quality of the food was appalling. The restaurant was cramped and dark and to seat us a pantomime. Constantly having to disturb people to sit down we had one evening when two of our party either had to sit at opposite ends or eat at another table. By the end of the week almost all had abandoned the hotel and eaten out. The menu consisted mostly of Veal...the portions tiny and thé Sea Bream looked like cat food. They couldn't even scramble eggs... One evening we waited an hour for a main course that was inedible. The service was poor with the behaviour of one waiter in particular surly and rude. The bar was only open occasionally and staffed by the same man. I felt that we were let down as Lake Garda is a beautiful resort and service everywhere else in Italy was first class. As noted earlier if it hadn't been for the company of others on the trip it would have been a disaster...

One of the best hotels!! Has 2 pools, one is indoor and other is outdoor! Amazing place to hang around! Comfortable rooms. Staff was way polite! Just a bit security problem because once while we were staying a person at 2:30 in the night banged our door for 15 mins! We freaked out and called the receptionist! He said he couldn't help it because he was the only one staff in the whole hotel, that's like quite scary because he was the only staff in the big hotel! Also in the rooms it is written keep windows closed to prevent unauthorized entries!!But its a goof place with a good view!

Clean basic rooms (ac and WiFi included in price). Bar is pricey but their restaurant is lovely. Pool is fantastic but could do with a few more brollies to provide shade. Very pleasant staff. Would happily stay again.

The hotel is very average. Its definitely not 4 star. On the good side: its well located and the service was very friendly But: - the room was not properly cleaned, especially bathroom and terrace were dirty - breakfast is pretty much limited to pastry - they are not offering you swimming pool towels

Just back after a week at the Oliveto. The hotel is in a nice quiet part of Desenzano across the road from the lake and a 10 minute, very picturesque walk along the lake side, from the town. Our room was very clean and well furnished, with a fridge, a free safe, WiFi (yes I know, doesn't happen very often) and toiletries. The restaurant was good and the waiting staff brilliant, although the food was good, I imagine it might be a problem for for fussy eaters or people who prefer burgers. As it was dark after 9pm we didn't go out at night, but spent the evening in the bar, which was pleasant enough, but lacked something, and the TV was was showing football all the time, which is my only gripe. An excellent hotel overall.

Nice hotel. Sauna open until 23:00.
