Awesome beach and beautiful sun-facing views of the Mediterranean, yet awfully rude staff for three reasons. Our room of 4 people were met with 4 damp, mildewed, and smelly towels in our bathroom. After nicely asking the front desk for replacements, I was met with a "no" without the woman removing her glare from the computer screen. I asked nicely again, and was told "you can have towels if you pay." So, I was forced to borrow towels from friends staying in other rooms in the hotel. Next, my friend ordered chicken and potatoes for dinner within the restaurant, and was given cold chicken. After asking for new food, they returned the food simply microwaved, still with the bite marks in the chicken. After pleading, they only gave us French fries as a substitute. Finally, you had to PAY €5 for AIR CONDITIONING PER DAY! Crazy, seeing as it was 92 degrees outside and in a humid climate next to the beach! I will NOT stay here again, even if the views are nice.

It was a nice hotel however 20 minutes in the room and i discovered that the balcony was inaccessible due to the electric shutters being broken. Had to lift them up and put a chair under the shutters to get out. The air conditioning was horrible and the food wasn't good.

The staff is the rudest that I have ever met in my life! We stayed for 10 days and the bedding was not changed once! The lady at the front desk refused to turn the air-co up. View at the beach? No way! How about a noisy street instead. Asked for an extra pillow. The lady simply said that in some rooms there is an extra pillow and in others there is not, just deal with it. Bathroom kept overflowing. Water was coming into the bedroom. Very dirrty room. Horrible staff. Unfriendly. Worst hotel ever!

I've stayed in Hotel Giosue a Mare for one week. We had a double room with breakfast and dinner included. While the hotel wasn't terrible, there are sure a lot of things the could improve. Our room was small and basic but it looked nice. Unfortunately it wasn't really clean, as there was sand en hair on the ground when we first entered. Besides that, the airconditioning was doing the bare minimum, so our room was pretty hot. Not unbearable, but not great either. The main window would not open, so we only got fresh air from the small window in our bathroom. The biggest problem with our room however were the paper thin walls. We could hear people talking in the hallway very clearly and in the rooms next to ours we were able to hear people receiving calls (at 4 and 6 in the morning), getting messages on their mobile phone and even people switching the light on and off. As this hotel accomodates a lot of people leaving early in the morning, this is uncomfortable when you just want a good night of sleep. What we also thought was a pity (and I'll admit, that's something we have to be more assertive about ourselves next time) is that we didn't have a balcony. People who were only staying one night got big rooms with larges balconies. Even though we were staying for a whole week, our room didn't have a balcony, so we got nowhere to sit except for our beds. The location of Giosue a Mare is great. You can reach surrounding villages and highlights of the area quick and easy by bus or train. The bus leaves down the road from the hotel and the train station is only a 20 minute walk. The beach next to the hotel is also a big plus, especially if you just want to go for a quick swim. The food was okay. Some days it was really tasty, some days it was not. The staff in the restaurant was friendly and they were working very hard to accomodate everyone. Some of the other staff members, especially at the bar, I found to be more rude and condescending (with the exception of the young woman at the bar with the curly hair, she was very sweet). It might be Italian temperament, but in my opinion that's no excuse to act snarky towards your guests. Most of the staff members barely speak English, making it hard to clearly communicate with each other. Also, one day when we came back to our room, the maid forgot to lock our door, leaving it open the whole day. Glad the room had a safe to store our valueable belonings ;) The hotel also hosts a lot of parties for the local Italian people. These parties are way more important for the hotel than their actual guests, or so it seems. Staff is busy working at the party and the don't have time to help you or serve you. As I said before, it depends on different staff members how they handle this. But generally, if you stand in their way for one second too long, you'll get a nasty look or remark. If you're looking for a hotel at a nice location, then Giosue a Mare is a good place to stay. Othewise I would not recommend this hotel. Our room was acceptable at best and we've felt like unwelcome guests a lot. This hotel was the most pitiful part of an otherwise great trip to Italy.

Pros: Location is beautiful, breakfast is included and really good and you even get free room service for it (due to Covid). Parking service, nice staff. Cons: The beach is littered with trash. You’re better off walking two minutes to another one down the street. There the water is crystal clear, deep blue und clean. The restaurant is really expensive and serves small portions. I would recommend walking one minute to the nearby restaurant and getting food there - they have more to chose from and better prices. Our room: The room was spacious and clean. Sheets were changed daily. Stunning view from the balcony!! It’s gets a bit loud though due to the street and the ocean waves but I didn’t mind that. Other: WiFi is free and works well. Service for parking is 10€ a day (for them parking your car and for a lot in the garage). Minibar prices are okay (2.5€ for a coke, 2€ for a 0.5l bottle of water). Conclusion: We would definitely visit again as we didn’t intend to use the private beach and we’re gone all day. If you’re looking to stay at the hotel and enjoy the ocean choose the public beach nearby or another hotel.

Stopped in for lunch. Friendly staff, fair prices, great view and excellent food. Recommend it for lunch. We didn't stay in the hotel so have no idea about the rooms.

The hotel is exactly as pictured the rooms are functional but not luxurious however that said all staff have been incredibly helpful, the cleaner lady was lovely, reception have been really good the night man having found out we wanted a taxi to Sorrento at 7am told us he would take us in his car as it was on his way home.
