I think IT is what's IT is. The place to consult, not to solve Your all problemems. Just something like first contact doctor that can direct You further if there is need to . However It is rights that they do not make much of a diagnostics there. Went one day with chest pain and they have not done even EKG (however it looks like they have some stuff there like ambulatory). Just medical interview and examination. However if You run out of your meds, or You have some kind of simple inflamation, flu or sth like thist, You will probably get what You need there. Doctors not always use english but the assistants do, so it is possible to communicate through them.

Awful, don't even try to use it, I came for a urgent prescription and they said to see a private doctor in the area, very poor service!!!

I had the advantage of speaking Italian and still had a very poor experience. The nurse did most of the talking, I’m not even clear why the doctor was there really. The nurse was far more interested in completion of the paperwork. I went with my daughter who had very strong ear pain, I had to insist that they actually look at her ear to check if it was infected or otherwise. I can understand they can’t prescribe medication for every condition but at least make an effort to properly examine the patient. I also presented as I had almost lost my voice and was feeling terrible, they effectively refused to examine me and dismissed it and said I was wasting public resources and in my own country (Australia) they would have to pay a lot of money β€œlike America” (??) for such a visit. This despite the fact all they did was process my form, and there was no one else in the clinic awaiting examination and they didn’t examine me at all (this was first thing in the morning when they opened)! Actually I tried to explain Australia and Italy had a reciprocal healthcare agreement for such eventualities and a free public healthcare system for residents but they were not interested at all. In any event I was fully prepared to pay, there was no expectation of free service.. As I said, I understand some conditions cannot be treated but to me this was an incompetent level of care without courtesy or basic discharge of duty of care to carry out a medical examination. Also I am surprised in a tourist clinic in the historic centre of Rome near the Spanish steps, a city with 7-10m visitors a year from all countries, that neither appeared to have a basic command of the English language. In Australia such a clinic despite being in an English speaking country would have had facilities to interpret in languages including Italian to ensure a proper examination. We were reliant on my grasp of Italian especially for my daughter which does not speak it at all. Unfortunately a sad reflection on the state of the public healthcare system in some parts of Italy which I’ve become accustomed to through my work and travel over the years.

Its supposed to be a doctor for Tourists, who answers the phone is a Russian lady who does not speak English and says its not only for the English Speaking tourists, but we have so many Russians...and her italian is not great either. Then ecen though I told her I tested negativ for Covid she told me stay home and wait for 10 days to make another Covid Test. Hello? Plenty of other sicknesses Apart from Covid in this world and diagnosis via phone by a NOT doctor?

My mother received excellent service and impeccable treatment at this centre. We had a short wait , were seen by a doctor and a nurse and were given a prescription before we left. I speak some Italian and could explain our situation but the nurse had some command if English too. I have nothing but praise for the staff here. Perhaps some of the people who have left previous negative reviews were being over-demanding ? Caroline , Barcelona

I just visited Guardia medica Turistica and was really impressed. I am from New Zealand and thought it would cost me a lot and I would have to wait for a long time to see someone. I was in and out within 15 minutes and was given a prescription to pick up from the farmacia. While it's not a flashy modern clinic, it does exactly what it says - front line care. Thank you to Dr S Salvatore.

Greetings- I went to Iceland in the middle of June, intending to hike and stay 2 weeks. I went to Italy instead of returning home, soon running out of much needed medication like blood pressure, cholesterol, antidepressants, migraine preventatives. Those I was able to fill with info from my home pharmacy. Then I ran out of Temazepam and super-bad-headache meds and went to a pharmacy in Rome near the Piazza Navona who said I would need a true prescription - they sent me to the Guardia Medica Turistica at Via Canova 19. The doctor listened, I spoke in English and Italian to make sure he understood, I asked what was he prescribing for sleep because it looked like he’d written Temazepam which isn’t sold in Italy, he said it was similar just with a different molecule, we discussed the headache pill which is different in Italy, he told me to get a doctor next time because I wasn’t paying into the tax system and next time I’d have to pay €385…. Took the prescription back to pharmacy. He had written it for Temazepam - and lied to me - and for one of my other medications that we hadn’t even discussed. The pharmacist called him to clarify. He was so rude that she hung up on him. This man is a menace. These are drugs of comfort, indeed, but lack of sleep and a blinding headache could cause a dangerous situation. And what if these were medicines needed simply to sustain healthy blood pressure, etc? He needs to be removed immediately. From the office and from the profession. The date of visit was 19/7/21 at noon. Best Carlye P
