★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a hidden gem, off the tourist track with stunning views. We enjoyed more than one beautiful meal here when we visited the area and were blown away by the fresh local menu and fabulous service. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and I was pleased to see how many families were enjoying the restaurant too. The ingredients for the dishes are sourced locally, for examples blueberries from just 1 km away, delicious and great value too.
The other wonderful thing about Grotto Carza is Wonderwood - I was on a trip with two of my friends and we came back specifically to experience the woodland adventure course. This is something for anyone with adventurous spirit and we loved it. I'm definitely coming back with the whole family to go again. Thanks for making our weekend break such a memorable experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful place to spend time with your family and friends - the food is amazing, the staff is friendly and skilled (they can speak French and German) and the atmosphere is unique in its own kind. Stunning view and you can hike in different mountain trails close to the restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Grotto Carza was a fantastic find! At the restaurant they have a simple menu focused on what’s locally available, in season and delicious. The owner was fantastically welcoming as well. We didn’t take advantage of “wonderwood” which looked amazing for kids and adults alike, they also have a small offering by the area with drinks/ snacks/ focaccias and deck chairs outside if you don’t want to eat at the restaurant. We hiked up from Cannobio but it looked like an easy drive and there’s plenty of parking available.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location, amazing food and magical atmosphere but the thing that makes this such a good place is the staff. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advices. The owners, Massimiliano and Sebastian, very often pass their time with every customer telling their story and giving suggestions about places to visit. They are really passionate about their job and you can see that from the way they take care of you.
Thanks for making our visit to Lake Maggiore so good.
