P	Pasquale Francia on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il sentiero che conduce alla grotta prufunnata è escursionistico leggermente avanzato per via della pendenza certamente impegnativa e che richiede giusti scarponi e indumenti adatti, nonchè i normali accessori per il trekking. La grotta prufunnata è visitabile solo avendo a disposizione l' attrezzatura di tipo speleologico: caschetti, lampade, funi altrimenti e d'accordo obbligo fermarsi nel primo tratto, comunque caratteristico. In totale tra salita e discesa abbiamo percorso 6 km in 5 ore. The path that leads to the prufunnata cave is slightly advanced because of the certainly demanding slope and which requires the right boots and suitable clothing, as well as normal accessories for trekking. The prufunnata cave can be visited only if the speleological equipment is available: helmets, lamps, ropes otherwise and in agreement I must stop in the first part, however characteristic. In total between ascent and descent we covered 6 km in 5 hours.

Una delle più belle attrattive dei Monti Picentini è la Grotta Profunnata. Nota fin dall’800 dalla popolazione locale e probabile rifugio di briganti, la grotta fu esplorata per la prima volta nel 2004. Il sentiero parte da m. 505 s.l.m., nei pressi dell'ingresso dell'oasi Wwf Oasi della Caccia di Senerchia e percorrendo circa 2,5 Km con pendenze anche del 18% si giunge all'ingresso della "Grotta Profunnata", posta a m. 955 s.l.m. Solo la parte iniziale è accessibile a tutti mentre il suo lato più nascosto ed affascinante, una galleria ricca di stalattiti e stalagmiti ed un vano finale impreziosito da un laghetto di acque cristalline provenienti da perenne stillicidio, può essere esplorato solo da personale esperto e munito di attrezzatura speleologica. Lungo cammino si aprono stupendi scenari naturali a cui contribuisce decisamente la scarpata del Vallone Trientale e con un pizzico di fortuna si riescono a vedere tante specie animali che costituiscono l’eccezionale biodiversità del posto. One of the most beautiful attractions of the Picentini Mountains is the Profunnata Grotto. Known since the 19th century by the local population and likely a refuge for brigands, the cave was explored for the first time in 2004. The path starts from m. 505 above sea level, near the entrance to the WWF Oasi della Caccia di Senerchia and covering about 2.5 km with slopes of up to 18% you reach the entrance to the "Profunnata Cave", located at m. 955 above sea level Only the initial part is accessible to all while its most hidden and fascinating side, a gallery full of stalactites and stalagmites and a final compartment embellished with a lake of crystalline waters coming from perennial dripping, can only be explored by expert personnel equipped with speleological equipment. Along the way, wonderful natural scenarios open up to which the Vallone Trientale escarpment definitely contributes and with a bit of luck you can see many animal species that make up the exceptional biodiversity of the place.

È consigliato un abbigliamento tecnico da escursionista anche se personalmente ho affrontato il percorso in pantaloncini e scarpe da ginnastica. Well-marked route of particular scenic beauty. Technical clothing for hikers is recommended even if I personally tackled the route in shorts and sneakers.

Dopo circa 1 ora e mezza in salita si arriva alla grotta,che per visitarla bisogna essere esperti di speleologia con equipaggiamento adeguato a questo tipo di escursioni. Path for experienced people, well marked with medium-high difficulty. Exciting to try absolutely for trekking lovers. After about 1 hour and a half uphill you arrive at the cave, which you need to be a speleology expert with equipment suitable for this type of excursion.
o	oblias on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Arrivati all'Oasi della caccia troverete il percorso che vi porterà alla Grotta . Percorso di circa 2.7km in salita. Noi avevamo semplicemente bastoni da trakking e torcia. Se siete agili facendo attenzione potete tranquillamente scalare l'interno della grotta sul lato destro dove vi troverete a godere di un panorama mozzafiato. Non abbiamo visto pipistrelli all'interno della grotta e nel percorso del selvaggio parco non abbiamo incontrato nessun cinghiale o animali pericolosi, solo uccelli. Un'avventura fantastica! Arriving at the hunting oasis you will find the path that will take you to the cave. Route of about 2.7km uphill. We simply had trekking sticks and flashlights. If you are agile paying attention you can easily climb the inside of the cave on the right side where you will find yourself enjoying a breathtaking view. We did not see bats inside the cave and in the path of the wild park we did not meet any wild boars or dangerous animals, only birds. A fantastic adventure!

Al termine di una lunga ascensione che attraversa un fitto bosco, si arriva alla grotta. L'ingresso è accessibile, alto ed umido. L'interno ha un'ampia volta e l'ambiente si estende per molte decine di metri, poi cunicoli per soli esperti. Pericolo di distacco di pietre dalla volta. Attraversato l'ambiente principale si raggiunge un seconda apertura che si affaccia sui monti circostanti. Non è per tutti. Beautiful and demanding excursion. It starts from the area of the hunting oasis in Senerchia. At the end of a long climb through a dense forest, we arrive at the cave. The entrance is accessible, high and humid. The interior has a large vault and the environment extends for many tens of meters, then tunnels for experts only. Danger of detachment of stones from the vault. Crossing the main room you reach a second opening that overlooks the surrounding mountains. It is not for everyone.
