We were recommended to visit Grotta Giusti to experience some wellness. We took the relaxation package for two which included a visit to the cave and a massage. The cave is quite nice and offers a near silent experience. You only hear the water dripping. There are three phases in the cave, cold, warmer and very warm which you can experience. The pool outside is also very nice and contains thermal water which should be good for your health. In the pool there are a number of places where you can sit and enjoy the water jet stream that can massage your back and legs a bit, these go on for ten minutes and after that you have to leave, and then five minutes later the new round starts for ten minutes. The massage was relaxing but could have been a bit more firm to specifically massage some sore muscles. The massage room was very nice and comfy, but there was no hole for your head in the bed and you had to put your head to the left or the right which makes your neck go stiff. We also had lunch and you really get your money's worth. I had the tuna salad and this was quite a big meal and was very tasty.

It's a good hotel, friendly staff and a nice swimming pool with a special area with beds for hotel guests. Because you also have visitors for the pool it's good that you always have a bed. Breakfast is nice, and the hotel rooms are also fine. Every day the room gets cleaned twice. Lunch at the pool... Not that good. No fresh pasta and the sandwiches are dry and not that tasty. They could improve that. Grotta... It's nice for one time. You can't swim down there so it's just a sauna in a nice area. For hotel guests €20 for one hr.

WHERE TIME STANDS STILL Once the navigation of your car brings you in front of a big heavy gate "guarding" the entrance on the property grounds and you have to ring a bell for someone to answer and open it, you know you have reached another time in space. After you enter the grounds, you stop the car in front of the red-carpeted entrance, a porter comes, opens the doors, welcomes you to "Grotta Giusti" (the brand new addition to the Autograph Collection of Marriott International) and pics up you luggage. The check-in experience is flawless. Associates speak in slow voices and very courteously take you to the room, while narrating the history of the place and the possibilities offered on and off property. Rooms are confortable and luxurious. The F&B experience is good, but should be better and I am sure, will be better. The two pools, one with fresh water and the other with water from the termal springs found in the "grotta", will help you relax and unwind. Also, when the grotta will reopen, you will be able to experience in full what the property can offer. In conclusion, visit Grotta Giusti and step into the "time bubble" of luxurious time past.

The photographers who were hired for the website and social media photos truly are experts in utilising creative angles and CGI. Unfortunately, this expertise left me, as a guest, somewhat disappointed and confused when I drove through the gates of Grotta Giusti. The beautiful stone facade that features heavily across the marketing materials and appears to be part of the original building turned out to cover just one small section of the hotel building - an area that houses just a gym (a very poor utilisation of such a beautiful section of building, given that nobody seemed to ever be using the gym). The rest of the hotel building is just a run-of-the-mill, dull, concrete block. The lush gardens are actually 50% concrete, tarmac and gravel. The luxurious spa facilities more closely resemble a local community fitness centre (not to mention the fact that the grotto spa - a significant factor in us booking this accommodation - was closed, something that wasn't communicated to us until we tried to access it). On the positive side, the service was excellent. Federico and Francesco deserve special shout-outs! There is another pool, I believe only for hotel guests, that has a much nicer design with a bar and restaurant. Seemingly because the pool water here is so cold compared to the heated pools at the spa, this was typically a very quite area when we were there and so much more pleasant (though the cold pool was less inviting!) The bedrooms are reflective of the photos on the website, but there is nothing very special to say about them. They are your standard hotel bedroom, tastefully decorated but a carbon-copy of the room next door. My view is that the photos of the exterior completely misrepresent the reality of the situation and a very lazy attitude was taken to the external parts of the hotel in the recent renovation. The aesthetics really let this place down. I think at the prices charged, you can easily find something far more premium where care and attention has been put into every detail and where creative angels are not needed to make the marketing photos look good.

Recently refurbished with great taste and high quality finishings. Attention to detail, beautiful rooms, soft and crispy linen. Superb customer care, great food at the restaurants, bar tender is a pro and makes amazing drinks, the pools are really nice, the massages were great, the staff very friendly and available. We had an awesome time and felt pampered from beginning to end. We will surely be back.

LOVED OUR STAY. The property is beautiful. The staff is very helpful. The beds were beyond comfortable. We literally couldn't get out of them. The restaurant is also very, very good! The food was delicious and service impeccable. Its only an hour drive to Florence and about an hour to Chianti. Honestly, you need to make this a priority on your next trip to Italy because you will NOT be disappointed. Also omg the Olive Oil they grow and produce is WOWZA!

Horrible! We booked our stay for 3 nights a few weeks prior - we are Marriott life time Platinum - looks like when we booked they had a glitch in their system and prices and points were a great cheap deal. suddenly we get a new email for our reservation showing it's for only one night - the hotel readjusted their prices and points at the backend and modified our reservation leaving us absolutely with nothing to work around - we tried to talk to them explaining the glitch in your system but they didn't help us. We are now stuck with all our tours and other expensive bookings around those days and losing money. We feel cheated and helpless for no fault of ours - absolutely unethical
