Painfull, no service and no staff for the guests available, 2 coffee mashines for 2000 people, very expensive, better think of driving the distance...honestly

Spend your money on this ferry or hitch a ride with a containership, your experience will likely be fairly similar. Almost everything on the boat is closed down, pool, icecream bar, disco, nightclub, game room even the slot machines. Though cleaning staff is in theory available you still need to clean the toilet of your cabin yourself on arrival. As a point to point transport it will take you from A to B but the experience is nothing worth paying for...

I suggest you drive!! The boat is extremely chaotic and dirty. Boarding was delayed for an hour and a half. On board the service is lousy restaurants and bars are closing shortly after departure. I got rescheduled and talking to other passengers seemed to be a common procedure no matter what date you were traveling or when you booked!

We went on a trip from Barcelona to Genoa in January 2022. We couldn't find the embarkment Dock (together with 6 other passagers/cars) as the one indicated in the website was wrong. The check-in time written on the ticket was 13.00- we had it at 16.30 with only one lady dealing with all passengers. On board the ship and the cabins were scruffy and worn out (the ship is 33 years old and you can tell it)-we asked to fix the heating system which was in the end not fixed, so it was cold in the cabin. Some onboard staff were friendly and professional, others definitely not. Finally, we were 3 hours late (we had rough sea so thanks to the captain to have taken us safely home), but not a word of apologies or explanation as to why we were late. None told us to disembark. I would not recommend this company, avoid it if you have alternatives. If you don't, keep your expectations to a very minimum and you'll have more chances of having peace of mind while travelling.

The journey was safe and nice. I had a pet friendly room so I was able to take my cats with me and walk around the room. The service and the staff are nice, however the main coffee chairs and tables are very poor and doesnt suit GNV.

Bicycle tourist here. I’d ignore a lot of the one star reviews, as this is one of the better budget ferries I’ve done. HOWEVER, I highly recommend booking a cabin to yourself. When you book a 3 berth cabin, it’s yours and it’s not shared. For my trip to Spain it was around 110 euros. On my trip to Spain there were a ton of “immigrants” staging out on the floors in the hallways and common areas. Spreading their bedding out and eating and being generally loud. Most were Moroccan but I was really glad I had a private place to sleep and secure my stuff. I highly also recommend brings your own food. Definitely bring enough water. I’m not a picky eater at all, but most of the food is very poor. And I think I spend 40 euros during the trip I purchased my ticket online though ferries direct. You can’t select bicycle for some reason, but don’t worry, just say you don’t have a vehicle. Go to the terminal building with the address on you ticket. Go to the second level and use your printed out ticket to check in. Pay careful attention to what covid test you need. The people in front of me needed a PCR for some reason and couldn’t board and the antigen was fine for me. A lot of pharmacies can give you the antigen in 30 min. So have your passport, your test, vaccine card, and the locator form of whatever country you are going to. Once checked in, look at your ticket and find if you are dock 1,2,3,4 or 5 and enter that gate as a pedestrian. Then ask if you can go on before all the cars, and if not, wait for permission to board. You can lock your bike to piping and the staff will get everyone out of the garage and lock it till it’s time to disembark.
