★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A number of years ago, we followed the smell of printers ink, literally, to this tiny shop. We learned that a recent visitor had given Gianni Basso a book about Gutenberg, which it turned out, had been illustrated by a former student of my husband. What a lovely connection. G. Basso showed us the metal cuts for early Pinocchio images and we were able to buy several of the small prints to take home as souvenirs. We look at them and the photos taken that day and hope we'll be able to return. We highly recommend that you find this shop and treat yourself to some really special printed work. Hand made! How much better can it get.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stumbled across Gianni's delightful print shop when I was completely lost in Venice. It is small and narrow but completely delightful with the very charming Gianni who is happy to spend his time talking to you and showing the hidden wonders he has hidden away. I just love this place and would recommend it to everyone, but especially book lovers. This is a place you just cannot miss and once discovered, you just will not want to leave.
I bought a bunch of personalised book plates and also the prints from the original plates made for the book Pinocchio. Beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I, along with my daughter, had the privilege to meet Gianni August 2018. I am a fine artist and graphic designer. The second I stepped into his shop I wept. I got to witness the work of his art...time stands still there. The beauty of his art of printing was breathtaking. I bought some incredible prints. Before we left, he shared his personal museum with historic displays...I could not contain my tears. I wept for an hour because of what I witnessed and his dedication to continue his art. It brings tears to my eyes if I type this. He is a true gem.

We found this place during our first day in the city as we got ourselves nice and lost wandering through the narrow streets.
My wife and I fell in love with the prints and the history of the shop as well as all the beautiful original printing plates that were on display.
We were able to purchase a couple of unique Venice prints and look forward to ordering some custom printed note paper/ invitations in the future.
I highly recommend a visit to see it for yourself.
